spring-green, saddle-brown, terracotta and sandy-brown.
C hook (2.5 mm), a tapestry needle, stuffing, red coloring pencil and scissors.
Stitches used in the Project:
Double adjustable ring, chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, single crochet through back loops
only, half double crochet and double crochet.
Finished size:
Lupita: 19.5 cm (7.7 inches) height
Plate: 4.5 cm (1.77 inches) height; 9 cm (3.55 inches) diameter

Realization
Head (burlywood color):

Youll have to start stuffing this piece while youre crocheting it. To avoid a hole at the beginning of
your project, you need to start it with a double adjustable ring (loop twice the yarn on your finger
and when you finish the round pull the remaining yarn to close the hole):
Rnd 1: 6 single crochet stitches.
Rnd 2: 2 single crochet in each stitch from last round (12 stitches).
Rnd 3: *1 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch*, repeat from *to* 6 times (18 stitches).
Rnd 6 to 10: Single crochet in each stitch
Rnd 11: 13 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 2 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next
stitch, 13 single crochet (32 stitches).
stitch, 5 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 2 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next
Rnd 19 to 26: Single crochet in each stitch.
Rnd 27: *29 single crochet, 1 decrease (2 single crochet closed together)*, repeat from *to* twice

Rnd 36: 6 decreases (2 single crochet closed together 6 times) (6 stitches).
Make a knot and cut the yarn with scissors. With the sewing needle sew up and down the yarn
around each stitch from last row and pull tightly to close.
Nose (black color):

Into a double adjustable ring crochet:
Make a knot and cut the yarn with scissors. Put some stuffing on the center of the circle. Then with
a sewing needle sew up and down the yarn around each stitch from last row and pull tightly to
close.
Eyes:
You need to crochet all the pieces twice.
Eyeball:
White color:
You need to start stuffing the eyeballs while weaving them in order to avoid any problems on this.
Make a double adjustable ring. Weave:
Switch to burlywood color:
Rnd 5: Single crochet in each stitch.
(18 stitches).
(12 stitches).
Make a knot and cut the yarn with scissors. Fill them with stuffing.
Iris (Sandy-brown color):
Rnd 2: *2 single crochet in each stitch from last round *, repeat from *to* twice, *2 half double
crochet in each stitch from last round *, repeat from *to* twice, *2 single crochet in each stitch
from last round *, repeat from *to* twice (12 stitches).

Make a knot and cut the yarn with scissors.
Pupil (black color):
Into a double adjustable ring crochet: 2 single crochet, 3 half double crochet, 2 single crochet (7
stitches).
Eyes assemble: On the White zone of each eyeball with invisible stitches sew first the iris (sandybrown circle) and then the pupil (black circle). With white yarn embroider 1 point of light on each
iris, next to the pupil.
Sew the eyes on both sides of the muzzle, leaving 3.5 cm (1.38 inches) of distance between them.
Ears (burlywood color):

Make 2. Into a double adjustable ring crochet:
Rnd 3: *5 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch*, repeat from *to* twice (14 stitches).
(32 stitches).

(28 stitches).
(26 stitches).
Rnd 22: Join the borders with a single crochet row (13 stitches)
Make a knot and cut the yarn with scissors. Sew the ears to head on round 25 (4cm / 1.57 inches
approx. behind the eyes) and leaving 7cm (2.76 inches) of distance between them. With red coloring
pencil shade the internal part of each ear.
Body:
Burlywood color:
Switch to hot-pink color in order to start crocheting the turtle neck sweater. From this round,
in order to achieve a different texture on the sweater, you have to crochet the single crochet
stitches by just hooking through the back loop of the stitch below. When you crochet into only
the back loop of the stitch below a definite 'ridge' is introduced in to the work:
(36 stitches).
(30 stitches).
(24 stitches).
Since this round youll start crocheting the sweaters neck in regular single crochet stitch:
Rnd 27: 2 single crochet in each stitch from last round (48 stitches)
Make a knot, cut the yarn with scissors and stuff it. Sew the bodys opening beneath the head,
making the stitches from the round 26 of the body in order to get the sweaters neck fold towards
out as in the final project.
Sweaters inferior border (hot-pink color):
You have to crochet it directly over the body just inserting the hook in each stitch along the round
where you changed colors between burlywood and hot-pink colors:
Rnd 2: 42 double crochet stitches.
Back legs (Make 2):

Beige color:
Rnd 1: 5 single crochet.

Rnd 6: In this round youll crochet the toes: 6 single crochet, *4 double crochet closed together in
next stitch, 1 single crochet* repeat from *to* 4 times, 6 single crochet (20 stitches)
Rnd 8: 4 single crochet, 1 decrease (2 single crochet closed together), 8 single crochet, 1 decrease, 4
single crochet (18 stitches)
Make a knot, cut the yarn with scissors and fill them with stuffing. Sew them to both sides of the
body, under the inferior border of the sweater and leaving approx. 5 cm (2 inches) of distance
between them.
Forelegs (Make 2):

Arms (hot-pink color):
In order to achieve the same texture that you have on the sweater, you have to crochet the single
crochet stitches by just hooking through the back loop of the stitch below as you did on the sweater.
Rnd 3 & 4: Single crochet in each stitch.

Rnd 17: Double crochet in each stitch from last round (sweaters cuff)
Make a knot, cut the yarn with scissors and stuff them lightly.
Forefeet (beige color):
Rnd 6: In this round youll crochet the toes: 6 single crochet, *4 double crochet closed together in
next stitch, 1 single crochet* repeat from *to* 4 times, 6 single crochet (20 stitches)
Make a knot, cut the yarn with scissors and stuff them. Sew the forefeet openings to the arm
openings doing the stitches from round 16 of the arms in order to get the sweaters cuffs over the
forefeet. Sew the forelegs to both sides of the body, under the turtle neck.
Tail:
Beige color:

Rnd 2: 2 single crochet in the first stitch from last round, 1 single crochet in each stitch till the end
of the round (6 stitches).
Make a knot, cut the yarn with scissors and stuff it lightly. Sew the tail to the dogs back under the
sweaters inferior border.
Paw prints metacarpal pad (black color):

Rnd 2: *2 single crochet in each stitch*, repeat from *to* 4 times. Notice that this isnt a complete
round.
Make a knot and cut the yarn with scissors. Sew the metacarpal pads under each foot.
Bone cookies:
Crochet 2 cookies of each of the following colors: terracotta, sandy-brown and saddle-brown. Each
cookie consists in 2 pieces joined together with a slip stitch row.
Work 8 chain stitches and crochet around them:
Rnd 1: 2 single crochet in the first stitch, 6 single crochet, 4 single crochet in next stitch, 6 single
crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch (20 stitches)
Rnd 2: 1 slip stitch, 5 double crochet in next stitch, 6 single crochet, 5 double crochet in next stitch,
2 slip stitch, 5 double crochet in next stitch, 6 single crochet, 5 double crochet in next stitch, 1 slip
stitch (36 stitches).
Make a knot and cut the yarn with scissors. Crochet another piece following the steps below and
without cutting the yarn off, face both pieces by their wrong sides and join their borders with a slip
stitch round.
Plate (lilac color):

Rnd 12: Single crochet in each stitch through back loops only.
Ending details:
To assemble the eyes on the White zone of each eyeball sew first the iris (sandy-brown circle) and
then the pupil (black circle). With white yarn embroider 1 point of light on each iris, next to the
pupil.
Sew the eyes on both sides of the muzzle, leaving 3.5 cm (1.38 inches) of distance between them.
Sew the nose on the front side of the muzzle (a bit above the muzzles centre)
With black yarn and chain stitches embroider the mouth as in the final project.
Sew the ears to head on round 25 (4cm / 1.57 inches approx. behind the eyes) and leaving 7cm
(2.76 inches) of distance between them. With red coloring pencil shade the internal part of each ear.
Sew the bodys opening beneath the head, making the stitches from the round 26 of the body in

In order to make the paw prints, sew the metacarpal pads under each foot (on the center) and
embroider 4 digital pads per foot.
On the front side of the plate embroider 3 flowers and leaves as following:
Flower Centre: A french knot with black yarn.

Petals: 6 long chain stitches with hot-pink yarn.
Leaves: 8 chain stitches with spring-green yarn.
