Abstract
Now a days portability is most important aspect in our
life. So to achieve this, we are designing such a system
which can carry anywhere. Using this system we can
not only transfer the data but also we can see the
transfer of the particular file which we want to send by
using TFT display. The Raspberry Pi is the Credit-card
sized computer. It was developed in the UK by the
Raspberry Pi Foundation with the hope of inspiring a
generation of learners to be creative and to discover
how computers are programmed and how they function.
It also plays HD video. It has a SD card its minimum
size 4Gb.The SD card must contain the operating
system, programs and the data needed to run the
Raspberry Pi. HDMI to HDMI/DVI lead RCA video
lead (if you are not using the HDMI output), Ethernet
cable (optional), Power adapter (micro USB power
700mA at 5V) Audio lead (If you are not using
HDMI).It has a 4 USB ports instated of 2 ports.

modern TV and monitor. In this way we can transfer

the data easily for transmission and reception.

REVIEW

The idea of this project was taken, looking at the

problems faced in daily life of Pen Drive Users to
transfer the data from one disk to another. Carrying a
computer or a laptop just for the sake of data transfer is
not affordable these days in the age when people want
all devices to be as small and handy as possible.
Moreover, transferring data via a computer involves a
lot of power to be wasted. There are numerous types of
data transactions that are being carried out through
these devices. However to operate these devices most
of the times an operating system is required which calls
for the hosts to be extremely complicated system hence
accessing these devices requires complicated hardware,
hence a controller that can handle the data transfer and
initiates the USB transactions was searched.

INTRODUCTION

Today the need for the portable devices is well known

to us. We can easily find the USB and its applications
everywhere around us. The applications of the USB are
computer peripherals such as keyboard, pointing
devices, digital cameras, printers, portable media
players, disk drives and network adapter, both to
communicate and to supply electric power. It has
become common place on other devices, such as smart
phones, PDAs and video game consoles. USB has
effectively replaced a variety of earlier interfaces, such
as serial and parallel ports, as well as separate power
chargers for portable devices.
But the main
disadvantage of USB devices is that it requires the use
of PC for their operation. Carrying a PC just for the
sake of data transfer is not affordable these days in the
age when people want all devices to be handy.
The operating system tells the Raspberry Pi how to
function, how to handle any input from the user and
how to manage programs when they are running. It has
a 4 USB ports .USB 2.0 is used for plug in keyboard,
mouse, external hub etc. The USB is used for the one
interface for many devices, automatic configuration,
easy to connect. The micro USB is used to power the
Raspberry pi device. The HDMI port is used plug into

data transfer between pen drive to pen drive without
using a computer or laptop is discussed. A data transfer
is done by using a computer or laptop means it
consumes more power and it is not a handy device to
carry to particular locations. To overcome this, a data
transfer is done by using an ARM processor (handy
device). A pen drive is inserted into the USB hub then a
signal will be sent to the ARM processor. By using this
signal processor identifies the host pen drive is
detected.
Author name Singh Harpreet [2] state that for
transferring the data to a personal computer or laptop is
difficult if one does not have any of them. It is
affordable to purchase a USB data drive than
purchasing a laptop or PC. Therefore this battery
operated affordable device can transfer the data
between two USB data drives without the help of PC or
laptop. The advantage of this device is that it is battery
operated so there is no need of power supply
connection and data transfer can take place at any place.
In the modern1 era the popularity of the Universal
Serial Bus storage device is very vast. But disadvantage
of USB is that being a peripheral device, it needs a host
usually a PC to initiate and mediate communications
between two USB storage devices.

METHODOLOGY

IV.

Transferring the data through USB in todays

scenario is the most common task. But the
problem is that for transferring the data to a
personal computer or laptop is difficult if u
dont have any of them. So overcome this
problem we implement the using raspberry pi.
As it is not possible to carry large size device to
particular location.
To overcome this problem we are designing
hardware which is more compact to carry
anywhere.
This project will also show us data transfer of
particular files on TFT display.
Implementation will be done by using raspberry
pi, TFT Display, Power supply.
The functionalities of the developed device
includes: copy, delete and move of files. The
developed device is very attractive in its shape
and performance.

V. CONCLUSION
This paper is for transfer the data between two USB
data drives without the help of PC or laptop. After
studying different papers we decided to use Raspberry
Pi for our Application as it has several benefits like
Low Power Consumption, portability, handheld device.
It will be developed by integrating features of all the
hardware components and software used.

PROPOSED SYSTEM

This project is used to direct data transfer between

USB flash drive to USB flash drive without
connecting to computer. The disadvantage of using
USB Flash Drives is that it requires a personal
computer or a laptop to initiate file transfers
between one another. As a solution of this
disadvantage of USB pen drive, our research
project aims to develop a device that allows the file
transfers between two USB BOMS (bulk only mass
storage i.e. Mass Storage Class Devices) without
use of personal computer or a laptop. We propose
to provide two options:
a. Complete data transfer from one flash
drive to another flash drive.
b. Selected file is transfer from one flash
drive to another flash drive.
