MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 133-135; 2 Corintians 5
Monday, August 29

1 John 2:1 And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ
the righteous:
Righteous Lord and Savior:
Those who are saved have a Paraclete, a legal counsel. So even though I sin,
I still have him. I thank you I have an advocate on my behalf, even though I
stand guilty before you after I sin.
O Lord Jesus, bring __________ and __________ to a saving knowledge
of Christ through that same grace today! Because then, all the sin they ever did
or ever will be allowed to docannot destroy their access to Jesus Christ as an
effective legal representative before the throne of God.
JESUS. He is an advocate such as I need.
Matt. 1:21 thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their
sins.
His name insures his resources, and assures us of his success.
JESUS CHRIST. He is the one anointed by God for the task. Therefore, he
has authority to plead my case as my Paraclete. If I choose my own advocate, his
access to the bar of justice will be denied. But now I have a court-appointed
lawyer.
Isa. 63:1 I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
JESUS CHRIST THE RIGHTEOUS. This is not only your character, but also
your plea. You can plead innocent on my behalf, and this plea is rendered as the
divine verdict. You meet the charge that I am unrighteous by the evidence you
are righteous, and being born again, I am in you. You were the substitute for
my sin. So my soul has an advocate who cannot but succeed! I leave myself
entirely in your hands and praise the name of Jesus today. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 142-144; 2 Corinthians 8
Thursday, September 1

1 Kings 17:13-14 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said:
but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy
son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the
cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
My God is more than enough, He can supply all my needs
He is my El Shaddai, He always looks out for me
Jehovah Jirah he is my God
All of the earth is His and the fullness thereof
Hes everything that I need you can be sure of
Jehovah Jirah he is my God
So why should I worry bout the highs and the lows
The ups and the downs, when by my faith I know
My God is more than enough, He can supply all my needs
He is my El Shaddai, He always looks out for me
Jehovah Jirah he is my God

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS MIRACLES

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 136-138; 2 Corinthians 6
Tuesday, August 30

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 139-141; 2 Corinthians 7
Wednesday, August 31

Mark 3:5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for
the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it
out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Merciful Savior and My Souls Lover:
Six times in the Old Testament you told Aaron or Moses to stretch forth his
hand in judgment against the Egyptians. A seventh time you told Joshua to stretch
forth his hand in destruction of Ai. But now, look at the incredible mercy of the
Son of God! Angry at the cold callous hearts of the religious shepherds of the
nation, you commanded a man to stretch forth thine hand, not in judgment but in
healing! And what you did for him you were willing to do for the entire nation.
How much I am like that man! I am powerless, but faith brings its own
ability with it. Lord, teach me! The Christian life is a series of paradoxes. My
withered, paralyzed handI still have to obediently stretch it forth, remembering
Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I can do nothing, and yet if I believe on Jesus Christ I can do everything
you command. My faith is stretchedalong with my withered hand!
So it is not only an act of faith, but an act of decision. Is it wrong to heal
on the Sabbath? What say you with the withered hand over there? If you agree
with the Pharisees you will refuse to raise your hand. But if you agree with me,
you will do in my strength what you cannot do in your own.
That is why so much of my prayer needs to be confessionconfession and
affirmation of what I am determined to do by your all-sufficient grace. Let me be
your witness, even as withered and worthless as I am! Sink or swim, live or die, I
hold up my hand. Here am I, send me! If I perish I will still cling to the cross of
my Jesus, my Merciful Lord, my souls Lover. Amen.

Psa 44:1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work
thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
Let what God has done suggest a prayer that he would repeat the like signs
and wonders among us. What would my heart feel if I could just believe that
there were some who would pray for revivalpersons whose faith is large
enough and their love fiery enough to lead themfrom this moment onto
exercise unceasing intercessions that God would appear among us, and do
wondrous things here, as in the times of old.
Shall I give you yet another reason why you should pray? There are men
and women who have trembled (and who know they have), but have shaken-off
their fears and once more daring their destiny, are turning away from the gates of
heaven, and running post-haste to the doors of hell. Will you not stretch out your
hands to God to stop them in this desperate determination?
I have a heart to pray for those of you who are never touched, or who still
quench the Spirit of God. I have done my utmost in preaching. Will not you
come to the help of the Lord against the enemy, by prayer? Will not your prayers
accomplish that which my preaching fails to do? Here they are; I commend them
to you: men and women whose hearts refuse to melt, whose stubborn knees will
not bend; I give them up to you and ask you to pray for them. Carry their cases
on your knees before God.
We do not know what God may do for us if we do but pray for a blessing!
Let us agonize and wrestle in prayer. Meet in your houses, go to your private
room, be instant, be earnest in season and out of season. All the stories we have
heard should correct any self-dependence that may have crept into our
treacherous hearts. It is not in us to do this, but God must do it all.

SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 148-150; 2 Corinthians 10
Saturday, September 3

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Almighty God and Amazing Father:
Through your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, you overcame death and opened the
gate to everlasting life. We humbly beg you , as your special grace precedes us this
week, put into our paths those we can open that same gate for! So also by your
continual help, let us not just talk about it, but be about it. That which is not
acted on is not real (even our very mission). Help us turn our faith into
function by your Holy Spirit. Give us all a holy boldness to approach those who
need to be approached with the wonderful gospel this week.
Through your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, you died for our sins and rose again so
we can be justified. Grant that today we will put away the leaven of malice and
wickedness. Help us always serve you in pureness and pursuit of living faith,
because we want to bring the same justification to others through our testimony
of the gospel. Make it so through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Through your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, you gave us an ensample of a godly life.
Give us grace to always receive with thanksgiving that incalculable benefit of
reading the Bible, and therefore actually seeing how we should respond to the
trials of life. We want to follow Christs steps in a holy life, in a life of praise, in a
life glorifying you, and in becoming more of a reflector of your glory to others.
1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent
his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
We want to see someone won today who has not yet trusted Jesus. We
want our hearts and minds prepared for the services this Sunday. Give us the
desires of our heart according to your will, for we ask it in Jesus name. Amen.

Psa. 113:2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.
Blessed God Our Father:
This is a poem of pure praise. Give me a heart of admiring adoration to be
able to understand it. The subject is the goodness of God in lifting the needy.
Even while praising you aloud, I am to bless you also in the silence of my heart,
wishing glory to your name, success to your cause, and triumph to your truth.
I do not quarrel with your justice or criticize your severity. I do not fear
your power, but I adore you as I find you revealed in your inspired word and by
your own acts to me. I love you and praise you for who you are.
Psa. 113:5 Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
No one can be compared with you for a moment. You, my God, are
without parallel. None of the metaphors or figures used in the Bible can give me
a complete understanding of you (that is why you are given so many names).
Nothing on earth or in the heavens fully resembles you. Only in Jesus Christ is
the face of God and the hand of God seen in physical form.
John 14:9 He that hath seen me hath seen the Father;
You are high above all gods, and yet you are my Father. You are my
Shepherd who supplies my needs. You are my Guardian who counts the hairs of
my head. You are my Friend who sympathizes in all my grief. Almighty arms, lift
me until I am,
Rev. 5:10 madeunto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
This is an envelope Psalm, because it ends where it starts. May my lifepsalm be the samean endless circleblessing a Lord whose mercies never
cease. Grace rescued me, so Lord let me praise you for ever, and draw others into
this song of praise! Amen.

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
