UTA HAGEN

Uta Thyra Hagen (1919 - 2004) foi uma atriz alem, famosa por seus trabalhos no teatro
americano, em peas como Um Eltrico Chamado Desejo e Quem Tem Medo de Virginia
Wolf?.

Biografia
Nascida em Gotinga, na Alemanha, Uta Hagen emigrou para os EUA, juntamente com sua
famlia, quando tinha quatro anos. Criada em Madison, no Estado de Wisconsin, mudou-se
para Nova Iorque, em 1937.

Carreira no teatro
Seu primeiro trabalho professional foi em uma adaptao de Hamlet, de 1937, na qual teve a
oportunidade de contracenar com Eva Le Gallienne.
Em seguida, continuou dedicando-se sempre ao teatro, tendo participado de encenaes de A
Gaivota, Otelo, Um Bonde Chamado Desejo e Quem tem medo de Virginia Wolf?.

A professora
Co-fundadora do HB Studio, em 1957, juntamente com seu marido Herbert Berghof, Hagen
tambm passou a lecionar aulas de drama.
Seu livro Respect for acting em portugus Tcnica pra o ator usado como livro didtico
em muitas escolas de teatro nos Estados Unidos. Em 2002, ela recebeu do Presidente George
W. Bush A Medalha Nacional de Artes na Casa Branca.
Entre tantos outros alunos, foi professora de futuros astros, tais como Robert De Niro, Liza
Minnelli, Al Pacino, Sigourney Weaver, Matthew Broderick , Whoopi Goldberg eAmanda Peet.

PROFISSIONALISMO

interpretao' - o ator deve buscar o autoconhecimento e lutar pelo valor da arte. Hagen
tampouco ignora os problemas cotidianos vividos pelo profissional do teatro - a batalha dos

the circumstances, the place, the objects, and the other people related to my
circumstances?

My character's need. The immediate and main objective.
WHAT DO I DO TO GET WHAT I WANT?
The action: physical and verbal. How can I achieve my objective? What's my behavior?
What are my actions? How far am I willing to go?

Exerccios de atuao
1 - circumstances that necessitate an entrance from the into the playing area and
eventually an exit.

2 - During the phone call, engage in the fourth side.
