Adverbios de frecuencia

Estos adverbios nos indican la periodicidad con la que se realiza una accin. Para saberlo,
preguntamos how often?" (always, never, often, once a day).
always (lweis) - siempre
usually (ishuali) - habitualmente
frequently (frkuentli) - frecuentemente
often (fen) - a menudo
sometimes (smtims) algunas veces
occasionally (okishonali) - ocasionalmente
rarely (rrli) - casi nunca
seldom (sldom) - casi nunca
hardly ever (jrdli ver) - casi nunca
never (nver) nunca
annually (niuali) - anualmente
yearly (erli) - anualmente
monthly (mnzli) - mensualmente
weekly (ukli) - semanalmente
daily (dili) diariamente
hourly (uerli) - a cada hora
every day (vri di) - todos los das
ever (ver) - alguna vez
yearly (arli) - anualmente
every month (vri mnz) - todos los meses
every year (vri er) - todos los aos
normally (nrmali) - normalmente
regularly (rgiularli) regularmente
once (uns) - una vez
twice (tchuis) - dos veces
three times (zri tims) - tres veces
once a day (uns e di) - una vez al da

from time to time (from tim tchu tim) - de vez en cuando

L PRESENTE SIMPLE EN INGLS

El presente simple se usa para indicar acciones que son habituales o acciones que ocurren
pero no necesariamente en el momento en que se habla. Por ejemplo:
I go shopping with my friends Voy de compras con mis amigos (Esto significa que voy
con ellos regularmente o de vez en cuando; no necesariamente ahora mismo)

Tambin debemos tomar en cuenta que cuando se trata de terceras personas


(He,She, It) los verbos tienen que ser terminados con "s" o "es" esto vara
segn el verbo que se trate.

Feel: Sentir

Know: Saber

Love: Amar

Need: Necesitar

Prefer: Preferir

See: Ver

Think: Pensar

Understand: Entender

Want: Querer

Believe: Creer

...generalmente NO se utilizan en la forma Continua:

Sam knows that his wife is a lawyer

EL PRESENTE CONTINUO EN INGLS

El presente continuo es un tiempo verbal que indica una accin que est ocurriendo en el
momento en que se habla. Es bastante parecido a, por ejemplo, comiendo, caminando,
diciendo, etc. En el ingls coloquial significa tambin algo que va a ocurrir muy pronto.
Veamos ahora unos ejemplos:
I am studying for my exam Estoy estudiando para mi examen

1.- Regla general del gerundio:

Bsicamente (y de forma generalizada) el gerundio se forma agregando la


terminacin "-ing" al verbo:
Ejemplos:
watch / watching
speak / speaking
pay / paying
eat / eating
do / doing

(ver / viendo)
(hablar / hablando)
(pagar / pagando)
(comer / comiendo)
(hacer / haciendo)

2.- Verbos que terminan en letra -e


Verbos que terminen en la letra "-e" se les va a quitar esta letra y agregar terminacin
"-ing":
Ejemplos:
have / having
write / writing
dance / dancing
drive / driving
smile / smiling

(tener / teniendo)
(escribir / escribiendo)
(bailar / bailando)
(conducir / conduciendo)
(sonrer / sonriendo)

3.- Casos especficos


Verbos en donde se dobla la consonante final y se agrega terminacin "-ing" (casos
concretos):
Ejemplos:
run / running
swim / swimming
stop / stopping
plan / planning

(correr / corriendo)
(nadar / nadando)
(detener / deteniendo)
(planear / planeando)

Nota: De estos ejemplos se podra pensar que todos aquellos verbos que terminen en
vocal + consonante se tiene que seguir esta gramtica pero esto no es necesariamente
cierto, ah estn los verbos speak, pay & eat que tienen esa caracterstica pero no
se sigue la regla sino la general.

Most people DON'T LIKE (not like) to visit a doctor.
In his job he usually STANDS(stand).
Im looking at the woman, she IS WEARING (wear) a nice hat.
I never GO (go) out in the evening.
He usually WORKS (work) with paints and brushes.
Do you know anyone who SPEAKS (speak) Italian?
At work, he usually SITS (sit) all day.
Where is Kate? She IS WATCHING (watch) TV in the living room.
ARE YOU GOING (you/go) to the party next Saturday?
DO YOU EVER WORK (you / ever / work) at the weekend?
Why ARE YOU DRIVING (you drive) so fast today?
The water IS BOILING (boil) now. Shall I switch it off?
The duck SMELLS (smell) delicious. Shall I take it out of the oven?
Sometimes, Tom DOES (do) his homwork after lunch.

Uso del verbo imperativo:

El imperativo en ingls hace referencia a la segunda persona del singular o


del plural. El sujeto implcito de las frases imperativas es, en general, you,
aunque ste no se expresa. An as, existe una estructura imperativa (let +
pronombre+ infinitivo sin to) que nos permite hacer referencia a la primera
o tercera persona:

Let me have a look.


Let us (Lets) go home.
Let him come in.
