Set Induction:
a. Teacher shows a supermarket section of vegetables.
b. Pupils state if they like to eat vegetables or not.
c. Teacher introduces todays topic.
Step 1:
a. Teacher gets pupils to identify vegetables in the pictures shown previously.
b. Pupils say aloud the name of the vegetables that they are familiar with.
c. Teacher guides pupils to say aloud the correct name for vegetables shown.
d. Teacher guides pupils to read the sentences on textbook page 54.
e. Pupils follow.
Step 2:
a. Teacher gets pupils into 5 groups.
b. Teacher distributes envelope to each group.
c. Each group will have to arrange the words to make sentences.
d. Group that finish first will be the winner.
Step 3:
a. Teacher gets pupils to sit in front and in a big circle.
b. Teacher shows the grapheme ss and say aloud the phoneme /s/.
c. Pupils listen and say aloud the phoneme /s/.
d. Teacher shows pictures and say aloud the name of each item.
e. Pupils blend and segment the word.
Consolidation:
a. Teacher elicits pupils understanding by asking simple questions such as:
