Description

A three component epoxy-modified cementitious sealing mortar.

Uses

For coatings 1.0 2.0 mm thick:

Advantages

For making good spalled and pitted concrete, blowholes, honeycombs

For filling in joints and making good surface irregularities

Density

Component A

Mixing

Shake well component A and B. Then pour component A (white liquid) into
component B (plastic canister) and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Pour the binder mixture (A+B) into a 30-litre pail and add component C.
Mix thoroughly for minimum 2 minutes, using a suitable low-speed electric stirrer (500 rpm.) or a forced action (pan type) mixer.

Application

Sikagard 75 Epocem may be applied by spatula, trowel, etc., as


appropriate. The material may be applied with confidence to damp
substrates. A moistened rubber sponge or distemper brush may be used
as required to impart a fine surface finish.

Protect the freshly applied Sikagard 75 Epocem from rains for 24 hours.

Rate of reaction

As a sealer coat on concrete, etc.: approx. 2.10 - 4.20 kg/m per 1 - 2 mm


of applied thickness.

Cleaning

Uncured material can be removed from tools with water. Once cured,
Sikagard 75 Epocem can only be removed mechanically.

At 75% relative humidity

Curing

Generally not required but some precautions should be taken for


applications done directly under sunlight and windy conditions.

Notes on application/Limits

Mix to a uniform consistency (no lumps).

The use of Sikagard Epocem Primer is recommended as primer


prior to application of Sikagard 75 Epocem.

Repairs with Sikagard 75 Epocem system cannot bridge live cracks


or moving joints, etc.

It is not allowed to add water into the mix.

Important Notes

Sikagard 75 Epocem contains cement and is therefore alkaline. Wearing


protective clothing (gloves and goggles) is recommended during its
application to minimize direct contact with the skin. If the material gets
into the eyes, nose, mouth or throat rinse immediately with clean water
and seek medical attention without delay.

Application
Surface preparation

Surfaces must be sound and clean and free from all traces of loose
material, laitance, oil and grease. Pre-wetting is not necessary except in
the case of highly absorbent backgrounds and/ or exposure to intense
sunlight.
In case of pre-wetting, no standing water on the surface is allowed.
