NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Changing Lives, One Family at a Time

Jesus was broken; he is broken for us. And he asks

us to give ourselves, to break ourselves, as it were, for
others. Pope Francis pointed to the many mothers
and fathers who, together with the slices of bread
they provide each day on the tables of their homes,
have broken their hearts to let their children grow, and grow well!
Francis also noted how many Christians as responsible citizens
have broken their own lives to defend the dignity of all, especially
the poorest, the marginalized and those discriminated against! -May 26, during his homily for the Mass of the feast of Corpus
Christi.

Augusts PMO - Project of Mercy will be on

Saturday the 20th, fr om 8am to 3pm.
Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical
Christian non-profit organization whose
mission is to eliminate poverty housing in San
Antonio through building decent & affordable
homes in partnership with Gods people in
need. It is not a charity or handout program.
Families are helped to help themselves through
their personal involvement and sweat-equity
put forth in building their home. However,
volunteers are the heart of the organization. It
takes volunteers to help build the homes and
truly make a difference for the families.
Please join us in being a witness to mercy by
working together and accomplishing our
special acts of mercy project. You dont have
to be a professional carpenter or even a handyman! You only have to be willing to help.
There are many parts to building a houseso
we can definitely find one that fits your special
gifts/talents. Volunteers must be at least 14
years old.
Let us rememberit is through serving others;
especially those less fortunate, that Our Lord,
Jesus Christ blesses each of us. When we are
merciful and do unselfish acts of mercy; we let
others see the face of Jesus and feel His
unconditional love.
If you would like to volunteer, please call/text
me @ (210) 845-6695 or email me @
salnsonia@hotmail.com. You can also call the
Parish Office at 654-1643 to volunteer.
We will meet in the front parking lot of SJN
between 7 7:15am; and then all caravan and/
or carpool to the job site at Hope Village, 337
Glendale Ave, San Antonio, TX 78237.

We hope to see many of you on Saturday,

August 20th! God bless you and your
families.

During July we welcomed five children into Christs Church

through water and the Holy Spirit. Just as God gave these
children the gift of life when they were born, Baptism gave them
the gift of Faith and Eternal Life. The Parents and Godparents
represented the entire Church and served as the instruments
through which God gave each child faith. Let us, the parishioners
of St. John Neumann, celebrate these childrens Baptism and
encourage the lifelong journey of faith this sacrament initiates.
Those baptized were:
Cason James Martinez
Jaden Noah Santos
