The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
Matthew 18:21-35
New International Version (NIV)
21
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, Lord, how many times shall I forgive my
brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?
22
Jesus answered, I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a]
23
Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts
with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten
thousand bags of gold[b] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the
master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold
to repay the debt.
26
At this the servant fell on his knees before him. Be patient with me, he
begged, and I will pay back everything. 27 The servants master took pity on him,
canceled the debt and let him go.
28
But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed
him a hundred silver coins.[c] He grabbed him and began to choke him. Pay back
what you owe me! he demanded.
29
His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, Be patient with me, and I
will pay it back.
30
But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until
he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they
were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32
Then the master called the servant in. You wicked servant, he said, I
canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldnt you have
had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you? 34 In anger his master
handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he
owed.
35
This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your
brother or sister from your heart

Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah
Matthew 16:13-18
13
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
Who do people say the Son of Man is?
14
They replied, Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others,
Jeremiah or one of the prophets.
15
But what about you? he asked. Who do you say I am?
16
Simon Peter answered, You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.
Jesus replied, Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed
to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you
are Peter,[a] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades [b] will
not overcome it.

The Greatest Commandment
Matthew 22:34-40
34
Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got
together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36
Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?
37
Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your mind.[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39
And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. [b] 40 All the Law and

God Loves Me
Mel Baguioro
God loves me! How do I know that? Because He has always been there
for me in everything that happens in my life in my joyous moments and
especially in my sorrows and trials.
Whenever I have problems, I have learned to simply lift up everything to
Him and to entrust the solution to Him. There was one particular time when I
thought that my problem was soooo big that I needed a miracle to solve it. I really
prayed hard to God because I knew He was the only one who could help. Only
He could change me and direct the events of my life.
You know what? He did send a miracle. He turned the situation around
and granted the desire of my heart. But the greater miracle is what He wrought in
me. He taught me how to appreciate all the things that surround me, the things
that I previously took for granted. He taught me to recognize my self-worth. Now
I call myself BLESSED!

At Mount Sinai
Exodus 19:1-8
19 On the first day of the third month after the Israelites left Egypton that very
daythey came to the Desert of Sinai. 2 After they set out from Rephidim, they
27
entered the Desert of Sinai, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the
mountain.
3
Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain and
said, This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are
to tell the people of Israel: 4 You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and
how I carried you on eagles wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now if you obey
me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured
possession. Although the whole earth is mine, 6 you[a] will be for me a kingdom of
priests and a holy nation. These are the words you are to speak to the
Israelites.
7
So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before
them all the words the LORD had commanded him to speak. 8 The people all
responded together, We will do everything the LORD has said. So Moses
brought their answer back to the LORD.

John (the Beloved)
Excerpt from: Encountering Christ: New Testament
Rina M. Ramos- Concepcion
He was the brother of James and was called the Beloved Apostle. He
was the closest to Jesus at the Last Supper (John 13:23) and it was to John, who
was the only apostle present at the Crucifixion in Calvary, that Jesus entrusted
his mother (John 19:26-27). The most lasting memorial of his work was the fourth
gospel of which he was the authority.
