Installation Procedure

Cable Processing

1. Cut the tension member and remove the cable jacket

Split the cable jacket

Cut the cable jacket using a nipper

Length of fiber protrusion = 69mm when assembling
FMC2101-2-SC/APC connector, length of fiber
protrusion = 50mm when assembling FMC2101-2A
connector

Installation Procedure

a2. Set the cable jacket

Press and insert cable

Close cover

2mm1.6mm low
friction indoor cable

3mm2mm bowtype drop cable

Jacket edge position - leave no gap between the cable and clamp

Fiber Processing
Strip the fiber color coat 7mm
from the holder end.

1.Set onto the cable holder and remove the fiber coating

Use a fiber stripper

No gap

Grip the cable holder and stripper

firmly; then pull towards the right.

Press and insert cable

3.Cut the fiber

2.Clean and screen the bare fiber

Use a spacer

Clean bare fiber with alcohol soaked cotton. Screen by bending the
fiber slowly 60 three times in each direction: up, down, left and right.

Angle cleaver

Normal cleaver

Use an angle cleaver when assembling FMC2101-2SC/APC connector, use a normal cleaver when
assembling FMC2101-2A connector
Set the spacer onto the angle cleaver or
the normal cleaver

No gap

Set the cable holder onto the angle cleaver or

the normal cleaver

Cut the fiber

The edge of the fiber coating is in line with

the edge of the spacer.

No gap

Remove the cable from the cable holder

After processing

After fiber processing, check that the

dimensions are as above.

Termination is poor if the dimensions are incorrect.

Connector Termination

1.Prepare connector and insert fiber

Confirm that the guide is fully
extended

Set the cable clamp onto

the guide; ensure it follows
the arrow and faces up

Confirm the length of the fiber with the scale

of the connectors main body

top of the cable clamp

Insert the fiber while pushing the guide with the

cable clamp

Too much or not enough bend causes termination failure and

requires the entire process to be completed again.

As the fiber bends

Disengage the wedge by

squeezing the sides of the wedge
unit

3.Fix cable in position

Push the lever down

Until you hear a click

Remove the wedge unit

Completed
