1. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the recruitment of Professors /
Associate Professor / Assistant Professors as advertised vide this Office Advertisement
No. Advt. No. E7/2016/15072-1 to 15072-22, Dated 14.07.2016.
2. The Prescribed application form along with the instructions and eligibility conditions can also
be obtained from the Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-641 046 by paying fees as
detailed below in the form of Challan/Demand Draft drawn in favor of The Registrar,
Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-641 046 from 15.07.2016 onwards.

IV. Reservation:
1.
Reservation is made in accordance with the 200 point roster adhering to the relevant G.Os.
and treating each Department as a separate Unit.
GT- denotes General Turn (Open Competition), SC-Denotes Scheduled Castes, Adenotes Arunthathiars, W-denotes Women Candidates, DW-means Destitute Widows,

For Information regarding Priority Category refer the G.O.Ms.No. 188, dated 28th December
1976 Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel-P) Department, Government of
Tamil Nadu.
Posts for Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyars on Preferential basis are reserved as per the G.O.
Ms. No. 65, P&AR(K) Dept., dated 27.05.2009. In case, qualified candidates belonging to
Arunthathiar are not available, Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars shall be
considered for selection on the basis of merit.
4.
Destitute Widow means a widow whose minimum scale of pay does not exceed
Rs.4,000/- and to the posts with Grade Pay which does not exceed Rs.2,400/- and family
pension or other receipts including income from private practice in the case of
professionals. Such candidates should produce a Certificate from R.D.O. or the Assistant
Collector or the Sub-Collector concerned in the format prescribed. Destitute Widow shall
not include a divorcee.

Destitute Widow shall include a candidate born outside the State of Tamil Nadu and
became a widow after her marriage to a person belonging to the State or Tamil Nadu and
residing permanently in the State of Tamil Nadu and shall also include a candidate born in
the State of Tamil Nadu and became a widow after her marriage to a person belonging to
other State and settled permanently in the State of Tamil Nadu, but shall not include a
candidate belonging to other State not covered under the above said categories.

If no qualified candidates are available in the category of Destitute Widow, the other
Women candidates may be considered on merit basis.
7.
If no qualified and suitable women candidates are available for selection against the
vacancies reserved for them, these vacancies may be filled with male candidates belonging
to the respective communal categories.
V.
Preference will be given to the eligible Differently Abled candidates. The usual procedure
for recruitment will be followed for Differently Abled candidates. The candidate shall
produce a certificate of physical fitness from the Medical Board to the effect that their
handicap will not affect the performance of the job to which he/she has been selected,
before appointed.

VII. Relaxations:
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and masters level for the
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently abled (Physically and visually
differently-abled categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good
academic record.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D.
degree holders, who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to September 1991.
Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading
system is followed by a recognized University shall also be considered eligible.

The Syndicate reserves the right to shortlist the candidates and to fill or not to fill up the
posts without assigning any reason whatsoever.
Applications should be made only in the format prescribed by the University.
The University will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay in transit.
Candidates sending the application by post/speed post/courier should see that the
application reaches this University on the prescribed last date. Applications received after
the last date without requisite documents or information will be summarily rejected.
Further, outstation candidates are informed to get their application forms well in advance
and ensure that the filled in applications reaches before the prescribed last date. Late
applications will not be entertained.
Enquiries on the above subject will not be entertained.
Since the selection of candidates is based purely on merit, attempts to canvass or bring
influence on the authorities to show favour during selection will be deemed as
disqualification and the application of such candidates will be rejected.
Minimum eligibility does not vest any right on the candidate to be called for interview. The
candidates will be shortlisted, based on higher qualifications/ accomplishments/ required
specialization of the available applicants. Only such shortlisted candidates will be called for
interview.
In case, the candidate is in Overseas and likes to attend interview through VideoConference kindly make a representation to the Registrar by fax to: 0422-2425706
immediately followed by sending prescribed fee of Rs. 5,000(five thousand)/- by means of
Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of The Registrar, Bharathiar University,
Coimbatore payable at Coimbatore. This facility is available for the candidates who are
working in abroad only.
Staff recruited on or after 01.04.2003 are covered under new Contributory Pension Scheme
based on defined contribution (G.O. Ms. No. 395 of Finance (Education-I) Department
dated 16.09.2003).
The candidates already in service should submit their applications through proper
channel. Otherwise they should produce NOC obtained from the Appointing Authority at
the time of interview, failing which the applicant will not be interviewed.
The candidates should submit Permanent community certificate issued only by the
competent authority at the time of interview.
