are going to visit the Fundidora Park. We arent going to travel to Cerro

Activity 9. Read the text and make the activities. Underline the
new words.
Say please!
Do you talk to your grandmother and your best friend in the same
way? What about the school principal and a younger brother or sister?
In many languages, the word for you changes according to who we
are talking to. In French, for example, we use vous when we are
talking to an older person or someone we do not know very well, and
we use tu when we are talking to children or friends. The equivalent
words in German are du and Sie, and in Italy they are tu and
lei. But these languages arent the most complicate- in Thai there
are more than ten different words for you and in Idonesian there are
more than twenty!
English is easier- in English we just say you to everybody. But
English has rules of politeness, too.
When we ask someone for a big favor we use could. And when we
ask and older person or someone we dont know very well. We use
could, too. But when the favor is small or we know the person well,
we use can. There is also one thing you must never forget when
speaking English-always say please and thank you!
