CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION:
1. It is a condition of manufacture that the motor frame sizes 225 to 355 shall be routine pressure tested in
accordance with clause 16.1 of IEC 60079-1:2001 at the following pressures:
Table 1
Motor frame sizes
2100
2760
2. It is a condition of manufacture that the motors shall be fitted with thermal protection devices according to
the following Table 2 and the corresponding Temperature Class and ambient temperature shall be marked
on the motor:
Table 2
Temperature Class
40 oC / rated load
60 oC / rated load
40 oC / 0.75 derated
T4
T3
T5
3. It is a condition of safe use that installation and operation of the motors shall be in accordance with the
manufacturers instructions, including drawing XXX (corresponding to the motor/item part number XXX
stamped on the motor) that shows thread form and size for the entries on the terminal box when non-ISO
threaded entries are provided.
4. It is a condition of safe use that the temperature sensing devices fitted to the motor, when the motor is
supplied from VVVF or in derated load for T5 Temperature Class, shall be connected to the control
circuitry in such a manner as to disconnect the source of supply to the motor in order to prevent the
nominated Temperature Class from being exceeded.
5. It is a condition of safe use for motors fitted with internal heaters that the supply to these heaters shall be
arranged so that they can only be energised when the motor supply is disconnected.
