Participants who are holders of a valid CIDB Green Card and


have paid their registration fees in FULL are eligible for a
rebate of RM100.00 of the registration fees. Please forward
clear certified copy of the CIDB Green Card together with the
registration form for verification.

OVERVIEW
This programme is specially designed in respect to the Code of
Ethics in which engineers have to oblige. This is to ensure that the
Engineering Professionalism in our country is enhanced and as
competent as that of their counterpart globally. This programme will
critically explain the role of engineers in facing crucial situation at
their workplace. Besides that, the programme will also touch on the
most appropriate way of dealing with difficult scenario that arise at
workplace which may have some conflicts of engineering ethical.
Since the conflict of interests between organization and engineers
varies from one to another, cases and facts from real job situation
will be highlighted and discussed, which covers six elements of
engineering aspects.

Cdr (Rtd) Ir. Raymond Swa currently is the Principal Consultant/Director


of Gading Institute Sdn Bhd. He was the Purchasing Manager of Maritime
Consortium Management Sdn Bhd. Prior to serving the private sector, he
was serving in the Royal Malaysian Navy as a marine engineer for 20
years, where he held various positions as follows:

 To provide guidance on code of ethics to engineers in their
respective branch of engineering.
 To expose the importance of environmental preservation in
any projects undertaken.

 To inform the importance of Ethics for Professionals.
 To highlight the expectations of Public and Society towards
Engineering Professionalism

PROFILE OF COURSE FACILITATOR

As Chief Engineer onboard warships 2 tours of total 4 years


As Superintending Engineer for ship repairs in shipyards 3 tours
of total 5 years
As Superintending Engineer for new shipbuilding in South Korea

As Inspectorate Engineer for ship inspections 2 years
As Head of Technical Training of Royal Malaysian Navy
3 years

Cdr Raymond is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of


Engineers, Malaysia. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and a post graduate certificate in
Marine Engineering from Royal Naval Engineering College, Manadon,
England. He is also a graduate of the International Training Methodology
course conducted by National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN).
He is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.
Apart from his formal duties, Cdr Raymond has also been involved in the
accreditation scheme of the National Skill Certificate programmes as
external verifier (appointed by National Vocational Training Council) for
the following institutions:

Actively involved in quality improvement in both engineering and training


management, Cdr Raymond carries out training and development
programmes in the areas of managerial development, quality drive,
supervisory skills, occupational health and safety, fire safety, problem
solving techniques and team building.
