O MANUAL OVERRRIDE
To allow for special lighting condltlons or create
special effects, you may switch from automatic
operation and manually set the exposure using
the F/stop ring; this is called manual overrlde.
When you finish using manual override, be caref u l to reset the F/stop ring to the " A" mark so
that you will be ready f or your next automatically exposed photo.
Shooting against the light
When strong lighting hits your subject f rom behind or from the side, the meter will have a tendency to read the brightest part of the picture
leaving the subject under-exposed. To compensate f or this, move forward until the subject appears to f ill almost all of the viewf Inder area and
take a meter reading (gently press the shutter releasebutton and note the F/stop ring indicated in
the viewf inder). Turn the F/stop ring from "A" to
the indicated F/stop. Return to your original position and take the photo. lf this procedure cannot be followed, take a meter reading without
moving to the subject and turn the F/stop ring

larger number than the F/stop indicated In the
viewf inder.
O FILL-IN FLASH
When photographlng outdoors (dayllght), you
may use flash to "fill-in" (soften) shadows. To
correctly expose with fill-in flash, you must flnd
the combination
of shutter speed and F/stop
which will give correct exposure for both the
daylight and the flash.
o Set the appropriate f lash g u i d e n u m b e r u s i n g
the guide number sefting lever located on the
fens barrel. (See page 22 for complete instructlons).
o Turn the F/stop ring from "A"

NOTE: When using f lashbulbs, you must use a

on the f lashbu lb packaging. For
electronic
