Description

Learn about the physiology of concussion and the role of ImPACT


neurocognitive testing in the evaluation and management of sports
concussion from an ImPACT Trained Physiotherapist, Codi Isaac, PT.
Codi will discuss the integral role physiotherapists play in a
multidisciplinary concussion management team as well as the use of
ImPACT neurocognitive testing to improve outcomes through the
identification of clinical trajectory pathways.

Target Audience

The target audience for this course is physiotherapists outside of the


United States. Content presented may also be applicable to Sports
Medicine Physicians, Primary Care Physicians, Nurse Practitioners,
Physician Assistants, Clinical Psychologists, Neuropsychologists,
Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and
Athletic Trainers.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

Identify the three clinical trajectories in which physiotherapists


may be involved.

Identify the clinical utility of at least three clinical assessment


tools used by physiotherapists in the management of
concussion.

State the importance of a multidisciplinary team in the


management of concussion with reference to a
comprehensive case study.

Athletic Trainers

ImPACT Applications, Inc. (BOC AP# P3429) is approved


by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing
education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible
for a maximum of 1.00 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs
should claim only those hours actually spent in the
educational program.

Physical Therapists

At this time ImPACT is not able to offer pre-approved continuing


education credits to physical therapists for this course. You will
receive a certificate of attendance for each of our courses with
contact hours listed. Review your state laws to determine if this
training can be applied toward continuing education without
pre-approval.

Physicians

At this time, ImPACT is not able to offer AMA PRA Category 1


Credits. You will receive a certificate of attendance for each of our
courses with contact hours listed. Review your local, state, and
national Medical Society laws to determine if this training can be

Professions

At this time ImPACT is not able to offer continuing education


credits to occupational therapists, psychologists, registered
nurses, or other healthcare professionals. We are in the process
of applying to be able to offer credits to as many disciplines as

training events.

Codi Isaac, PT
Sport Physiotherapist (cert.)
Owner, Isaac Physiotherapy

Codi graduated from the University of Alberta in 2007 with a Master of


Science in Physical Therapy. Since her graduation, she has worked in private
practice and sporting environments. Her expertise is in restoring function and
participation in life, work and recreational activities for her patients. In
addition to her Masters of Science she completed her Duke Vestibular
Competency in July 2015. She has achieved her Sport Physiotherapist
certificate and has over 1250 hours on-field with ice hockey, gymnastics,
soccer, rugby (IRB Womens Rugby World Cup) and curling (Tim Hortons
Brier). Codi is currently working with provincial and local sporting
organizations to assist in establishing policy and implement procedures
around injury management. Her concussion knowledge comes from
countless hours of personal research, formal training and mentorship from
some of the top researchers in North America. Concussion injury makes up
the most significant part of her daily caseload. Isaac Physiotherapy provides
state-of-the art testing services and equipment along with hands-on physical
therapy for improving the unique physical characteristics that come with
concussion.
