Como alumno que accedes al primer curso de Bachillerato llevas varios aos
estudiando una lengua extranjera y debes haber adquirido soltura suficiente para
desenvolverte en situaciones de la vida corriente. Por lo tanto, ahora el aprendizaje ha de
consistir en una prolongacin, consolidacin y especializacin de Ias capacidades que
has adquirido a lo largo de estos aos. En este sentido, los contenidos del estudio de la
lengua extranjera no difieren grandemente de los anteriores, aunque en otro nivel de
conocimiento, de capacidad de comunicacin, de anlisis y reflexin.
Por lo tanto, en este curso debes desarrollar al mximo tu autonornia con
respecto a tu propio progreso, de forma que puedas controlar tus propias producciones
con mayor rigor, convirtiendo la lengua en un instrumento y medio personalizado de
comunicacin, en su doble vertiente de produccin y de comprenson.
Por ltimo, recuerda que el aprender una lengua extra-njera no solo sirve para
poder expresarse y comunicarse en ese idioma, [o cual no es poco y realmente puede
considerarse un fin en s i mismo, sino que tambin contribuye a tu formacin intelectual
general refonando tus capacidades cognitivas, desarrollando tu propia autonoma, as
como ampliando tus horizontes y conocimientos sobre culturas extranjeras, lo que te
permitir una mejor comprensin y vaIoracion critica del mundo actual.
Para que te hagas una idea de lo que debes estudiar y del modo en que debes
orienlar tu aprendizaje, a continuacin te presentamos los criterios de evaluacin por los
que se van a regir los exmenes que debas realizar. En consecuencia, al terminar el

Con la finalidad de conseguir tos objetivos marcados para q0 de Bachillerato y de
refonar las habilidades Iinglsticas del alumno, el libro de texto proporciona una
serie de actividades secuenciadas

Starting Out: Introduce el tema a modo de "disparador"o introductor del tema que
ternatica que motive al alumno. Previo al texto de cada unidad se presenta una
estrategia para la lectura eficaz.
False friends: Se extraen palabras del texto que por su similitud con las palabras
escrita.
LOS CDs
Hay dos tipos de CDs.: el Class Audio CD que contiene todas las grabaciones de 10s
textos del libro de texto (las pistas aparecen reflejadas en la lista que aparece al final de
la guq antes de los guiones -scripts-), y el Student's Activity Multirom, con los
listenings del workbook y ejercicios extra de grarntca, vocabdario y audici6n. Este
CD se puede usar en un PC para su mejor aprovechamiento, o en un reproductor de Cds.
(solo audio).
unidad, conviene que tengas a mano un buen diccionario. Lo encontraras til en numerosas
ocasiones, especialmente cuando escribas tus redacciones.
Existen prestigiosas editoriales en el mercado (Oxord, Longman, Collins, Heinemann,
etc) que ofrecen diccionarios de gran calidad e incluso diccionarios online en Internet. Hay
dos tipos de diccionario: monolinges (es decir, ingles-ingls) que te explican el significado
de Ia palabra en ingls, y diccionarios bilinges (ingles-espaol, espafiol-ingls) que te
traducen la palabra al espaol o al ingles segun corresponda. Quizs para alumnos que han
elegido la modalidad a distancia sea mas praclico utiIizar un diccionario bilinge que los
saque de dudas utilizando la lengua.materna. Sin embargo. si en el futuro tienes inters en
seguir aumentando tus conocimientos de ingles, tampoco estaria mal pensar en uno
monolinge porque eslos te ayudan a pensar directamente en ingles e ir acostumbrandote a
no traducir cuando hablas o escribes en ingles.
Tambien conviene que sepas que en el mercado hay una gran variedad de libros de
lectura graduados a diferentes niveles que te ayudaran a practicar la lectura, aumentar tu
vocabulario y adquirir una mayor fluidez.
Si observas que necesitas un repaso gramatical mas profundo, existen exceIentes
gramticas que permiten el aprendizaje autonomo porque disponen de una parte terica y
otra de ejercicios con su correspondiente clave de respuestas.
En muchos de los CDs de este tipo, eI sistema de reconocimiento de voz nos da siempre
como mai nuestras producciones. No hay que desanimarse si esto nos ocurre siempre y
hay que seguir avanzando,pero teniendo siempre en cuenta las indicaciones que nos
hacen y despus de ver y hacer todos los ejercicios, que son muy buenos.
