ECUMENICAL CHAPEL

Inside campus ITESO there is a

grove of oaks, and at the end of
the path there is a cross. The aim
of the project was to create a
space where people could have
spiritual contact.
The project is very simple, since
the horizontal space is delimited
by walls and the vertical one is
naturally defined by treetops,
forming a natural dome.

PATIO HOUSE

The project is built around a central courtyard, wich is formed by

four volumes that make up the
house. The center patio is the
main inspiration in the project because this was the basis of the
haciendas in colonial times,
and they remind us the principle
of Mexican architecture.
For this project it was sought to
maximize the views and have the
greatest contact with the outside,
and with a central patio is possible to achieve this goal.

CAPUCHINAS CULTURAL CENTER

The project consisted on analazing an area of downtown Guadalajara, then create a program
and propose a project. It was decided to design a cultural center
with a large open space where
people could have a moment of
relaxation and rest , because
there are not places of this kind
near that area.
The vertical columns are inspired
in the measurments of the patrimonial building that is next to it.

Based on the premises of the

program it is proposed to develop a project around an existing
lake creating a building- lake
contact.
The steps that enhance the
building, sink into the lake, and
the dock that comes from them,
surrounds the lake inviting users
to take a walk and experience
the feeling of being in contact
with the lake and also in an
atmosphere of recreation. Structurally, the roof is formed by
inverted steel frames, creating a
downward arc, focusing both
lighting and the vanishing point
on the court.

COOGEE APARTMENTS + BOOKSHOP

The project consisted in creating
a 3 apartment complex: one for
the client, another one for renting
to students and a last one for
sale, plus a bookshop which is
owned by the client. It was proposed to locate the bookshop on
the ground floor, using the slope
to give it more privacy. On the
second level is located the apartment that is for sale, as it has
direct access from the street,
which gives it an added value,
and the apartment planned to
rent to students is divided into
two levels for privacy that may
exist between leasers. Finally
the customers apartment is
located on the third floor to take
advantage of the views and at
the same time is divided into two
wings to create privacy between
parents and children.

GV BUILDING

WEST ELEVATION

SOUTH ELEVATION

This project of urban rescue proposes to take advantage and respect the existing structure,
since this is intact and in perfect
conditions.
The new program of the building
proposes a mixed use for the
comfort of the users , and this
includes a gym, a pharmacy, an
OXXO , dry cleaners, coffee bar
and a rooftop terrace.
One of the objectives of this project was taking advantage of
most of the space to achieve
densification in the area. The
building consists in 42 apartments with one, two or three
bedrooms, all of then with a
study room, giving the users the
choice to have another extra
bedroom.
