Happy Easter!

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in the

Risen Christ,
Forty days ago, we started our liturgical season
of lent. During this time our sacrifices, prayers,
fasting, and works of charity have led us to this
special moment, Easter. Today, we begin the
celebration of Easter and will continue celebrating it
for fifty days until Pentecost Sunday, May 24th.
We are a community which understands that
the Passion of Christ, His death on the cross, is a
transitional time of deep prayer and meditation
which leads us to the joys of the Risen Christ. As a
faithful community, we celebrate life in Christ, our
friendship, closeness and communion with Him.
The joy of Easter is reflected in the prayers,
music, readings, the Paschal candle, the decorating
of the Church and the white color of our liturgy,
which invites us not to be sad, rather to be glad
because our faith is in the Risen Christ. Our
gladness is even bigger when we come together as a
community, as a parish family, to celebrate our
faith.
I want to recognize the work, and give thanks
to Deacon George Schramm for being attentive with
all the details during our liturgical celebrations.
Thanks to Joan Woksa and the choirs for
incorporating the beauty and reverence to our
liturgy through the music and chanting. Thank you
also to Sharon Stoddard, Bertha Ortiz and Brian
Jaeger for their time and dedication during Holy
Week.
I am also grateful for our altar servers, ushers,
readers, and Ministers of Holy Communion for their
time and service. And above all, I want to thank
you for being part of our liturgical services of Holy
Week, and for making St. Patricks Church a strong
community of faith, committed to charity. I pray
that your closeness with Christ and St. Patricks will
continue forever.
Happy Easter and praise be to the Risen Christ,

Queridos hermanos y hermanas saludos en Cristo
Resucitado,
Hace cuarenta das que comenzamos nuestro
tiempo litrgico de la Cuaresma. Durante este tiempo
nuestros sacrificios, oraciones, ayunos, y obras de
caridad nos han guiado hasta este momento tan
especial, la Pascua. Hoy comenzamos la gran
celebracin de la Pascua y la seguiremos celebrando
durante cincuenta das hasta Mayo 24 con el Domingo
de Pentecosts.
Nosotros somos una comunidad que entiende que
la Pasin de Cristo, su muerte en la cruz, es un tiempo
transitorio de profunda oracin y meditacin que nos
conduce a la alegra del resucitado. Como comunidad
celebramos la vida en Cristo, nuestra amistad, cercana
y comunin con El.
La alegra de la pascua la podemos ver reflejada
en las oraciones, la msica, las lecturas, el cirio
pascual, la decoracin de la Iglesia y el color blanco de
nuestra liturgia que nos invitan a no estar tristes sino
alegres porque creemos en Jess Resucitado. La alegra
es an ms grande cuando nos reunimos como
comunidad, como familia parroquial, para celebrar
nuestra fe.
Quiero reconocer el trabajo y darle las gracias al
diacono George Schramm por estar pendiente de todos
los detalles de la liturgia. Gracias Joan Woksa, y su
equipo de trabajo, por incorporar la belleza y piedad a
nuestra liturgia a travs de la msica y el canto.
Gracias Sharon Stoddard, Bertha Ortiz y Brian Jager
por la decoracin de nuestra Iglesia, la preparacin de
lugares y materiales durante la Semana Santa.
Gracias tambin a nuestros servidores del altar, a

each day for his/her parents. The baby shower will
be in May, with gifts going to Giannas House and
Abigails Womens Center.

The miracle of life continues:

inches long from head to heel.
Her muscles and lungs are
continuing to mature, and her
head is growing bigger to make
room for her developing brain.
To meet his increasing nutritional
demands, mom will need plenty of protein, vitamins
C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are
soaking up lots of calcium, mom will need to drink
her milk (or find another good source of calcium.)
This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are
deposited in the baby's hardening skeleton each day.
