SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The lime is received as bulk dry burnt lime. All other reagents are received in
drums. Drums are handled by fork lift trucks equipped with hydraulic barrel
handling attachments.
Lime Plant
Burn lime is received by trucks, dumping to a storage pile. The lime is retrieved
from storage and transported to a hopper by a front-end loader. Lime
is drawn from the hopper by a belt conveyor discharging to a ball mill.
A belt scale is installed on the conveyor to continuosly measure the
flow rate and total tonnage of lime being fed to the ball mill. The ball
mill is in

Closed circuit with a hydrooyclone classifier. The hydroocyclone overflow is
discharged to a transfer sump.
Water is added to the mill feed.mill discharge and to the transfer sump.
Lime slurry is pumped from the sump to two 25.000 gallon capacity agitated
storage tanks, Slurry is pumped from the tanks through a circulating loop fitted
with a back preassure valve. Branch linesw from the circulating loop feed the
lime sluburry to the various points of use in the concetrator. The flow to eachg
branch line. Each valve is controlled by a programmes timer on control console
CC-5F in the Concentrator Control Room.

13.1 SCOPE AND SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

D-200 (Frother)

(cont d)

D 200 ( solution) is received in drums and transferred by an air

powered barrel pump to a storage tank. The reagent is pumped to
the rougher and scavenger circuits throug a closed pressurized
recirculating loop , with metering to the points of use trough
manuallly adjusted totamater valves.
Point of use:
Rougher feed sumps
Rougher II feed boxes
Rougher II cell 5 (both circuits)
Scavanger cell 9 (both circuits)

Points of use :
1st and 2nd stage ball mills
Conditioner tanks
Rougher feed sumps
Rougher IT fees boxes
Seavenger feed boxes
Seavengers (Cell 9)

Z-200
Z 200 (solution) is received in drums and transferred by an air
powered barrel pump to a head tank. The reagent is added to the
rougher feed sumpd by means of cup and disc reagent feeders.
S-127 (Flocculant)

Z-11 Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate

Z-11 (dry) is received in drums and dumped by fork lift trucks to an agitated
nixing tank. The reagent is batch nixzed with water and pumped to a reservoir
tank. It is pumped to the flotation circuit through a closed pressurized
recirculating loop. With metering to the points of use through manually adjusted r
rrotameter valves.

S 127 (dry) is received in drums and dumped by fork lift truck to a

screw type feeder discharging to an agitated mixing tank. Flocculant
is batch mixed with water and pumped to a head tank. From the
flocculant is:
1)

Added to the final tailings sump. Flow is motored by a floy

indicator and regulated by means og a hand valve.

2)

Firther nixed with water by an educator discharching to the

final concetrate sump. Reagent flow rate to the eductor is
monitored by flow indicator and regulated by means of hand
valve.

Points of use :
Conditioner tanks
Rougher II feed boxes
Rougher II cell 5 (both circuits)
Seavanger cell 9 (both circuits)
NaCN (Sodium Cyanide)

S- 352 (Iscale Inhibitor)

NaCn ( dry) is received in drums and dumped by fork lift trucks to an agitated
mixing tan.The reagen is batch mixed with water and pumped to a head tank .
NaCN solution is added to the floation 3rd cleaner feed sump by means of a
cup and disc reagent feeder.

S-32 is received in drums and pumped from the drums to the reclain
water settling pond by means of chemical metering pump.
Filter Aid
Filter aid received in drums and pumpes from the drums to the filter
feed distribution box by means of a chemical metering pump.
