This new derailleur not only answers the

Eagle drivetrains need for greater
capacity, but is also the next evolution of
our proven, 1x-specific X-HORIZON design.
The larger, 14-tooth X-SYNC lower pulley,
allows 10- to 50-tooth cassette capacity in
this compact design, and also adds to
Eagles overall smooth-pedaling feel. Our
new, Type-3 ROLLER BEARING CLUTCH
features a smoother torque curve for a
quieter, more consistent operation and feel.
CAGE LOCK has been moved back and out

the engineering inside this incredible new
chain design that makes possible a gear
range previously found only in 2-chainring
drivetrains. And its also the biggest
contributor to the Eagle drivetrains
ultra-smooth, precise, durable and quiet
performance. The Eagle chains links
have a smooth radius, with no sharp
edges or chamfers, which yield a
significant reduction in noise, friction and
wear on chainrings and cassette cogs.
This design also allows for a flatter plate,
which means more consistent chain
riveting and greater overall strength.
HARD CHROME technology extends the

The radical new look and feel of our

X-SYNC 2 Eagle chainring is a direct
result of SRAM drivetrain engineers
studying the performance and wear
characteristics of thousands of X-SYNC
chainrings. We subjected every size of
chainring to untold environmental and
mechanical tortures, abuse and neglect,
in both lab and real-world settings, to
come up with a chainring that would
augment the Eagle drivetrains
performance in all conditions. The longer,
positive-rake tooth shape has been
designed to work perfectly with the new
Eagle chain to increase chain retention
and overall pedaling efficiency, while

X-HORIZON
The X-HORIZON rear derailleurs
straight parallelogram design limits
all movement to the horizontal axis,
which makes ghost shifting
impossible while also reducing shift
force. For quicker, more exact
shifting, the large upper pulley offset
design maintains a constant chain
gap across all gears.

Besides serious weight savings,
this bottom bracket means narrow
Q-factor, more ankle clearance,
greater bearing durability, and
stronger crank construction.
BOOST
BOOST is a new wheel and
drivetrain specification that opens
the opportunity for improved frame
geometry with shorter chain stays,
wider and stiffer suspension pivots,
a wider range of chainring options
as well as more clearance for
bigger tires and wider, stiffer
wheels.
CAGE LOCK
With CAGE LOCK technology in the
rear derailleur, wheel removal and
installationas well as chain
installationbecomes faster and
simpler. Just pushing the cage forward
to create slack and lock it into place.
FLOWLINK
Ultra-smooth chain inner-plates are
completely devoid of square edges,
resulting in a chain that engages the
cassette and chainring with far less
friction, for quieter performance and
better wear life. The design allows a
narrower overall profile that can
withstand greater angles, and also
allows for a flatter outer-plate, which
means more consistent chain riveting
and enhanced overall strength.
HARD CHROME
The SRAM HARD CHROME chain
has four times the elongation (wear)
resistance to our other chains. This
is due to the new finishing process
on the inner links and rollers. Push
pin strength and ultimate strength
are equivalent to our current chains.
The HARD CHROME chain lasts
longer and is just as strong.
JAWS
Once the Grip Shift shifter and grip
interlock securely, forged aluminum
clamps on either end reinforce the
assembly by locking tightly to
handlebar.

With durable JET black finish, the
cassette looks as tough as it
performsride after ride. JET
finish provides a higher level of
corrosion resistance.
ROLLER THUNDER
Three rows of ball bearings provide
zero friction or playreducing the
force needed to shift and promoting
long-term performance under all
weather conditions with Grip Shift.

ROLLER BEARING CLUTCH rear
derailleurs deliver maximum
drivetrain stabilityeven through the
most punishing terrain. With
technology, derailleur bounce and
chain slap are eliminated without
sacrificing precision.
SPEED METAL
Full metal indexing keeps shifting
crisp and precise with Grip Shift.
X-ACTUATION
Developed specifically for SRAM 1x,
X-ACTUATION keeps shifting
sharp and consistent across the
entire cassette.
X-DOME
The revolutionary machined design of
the X-DOME cassette uses the same
grueling manufacturing techniques that
produced the PowerDome road
cassette. With X-DOME, nine of the
cogs are CNC machined together out
of a single block of billet steel, creating
an incredibly lightweight, precise and
strong cassette.
X-GLIDE 2
X-GLIDE 2 is next generation of
SRAM X-GLIDE technology optimized
for the Eagle 12-speed cassette. It
provides quick, precise, power-on
shifting performance throughout the
gear range, and increases chain
retention on larger cogs.
TECHNOLOGIES
X-SYNC 2
SRAM X-SYNC 2 Eagle is the
next evolution of SRAM X-SYNC
technology. The aggressive teeth
design provides better chain
retention for a smoother, more
efficient pedal feel. With a focus
on long wear-life, the X-SYNC 2
Eagle design reduces friction
and the accumulation of mud, grit
and grime.
XD DRIVER BODY
XD is a cassette driver body design
that allows the use of a 10-tooth
small cog and provides an improved
interface with the cassette.
ZERO LOSS
ZERO LOSS simply means, well,
zero losswhen you push on the
lever, for an upshift or down shift, the
cable is engaged instantlyzero loss
of movement. There is no middleground where youre waiting for the
shift to come. Gear changes are
instant and precise.
