The Changing Face of Dear Pastors, Prayer Partners & Donors:

Missions in Africa
Greetings in the Name of Jesus:
Bible College – Land
expropriation
My Pastor, Rex N. Green of Germiston, South Africa, had many spiritual words of
Trusting God by Faith encouragement he taught his congregation during the 41 years of ministry, in one
church in the same town. In his lifetime, he sent out 19 missionary couples, supported
Our Mission Emphasis solely by his church, building 39 mission churches in Africa. “Go ye therefore, and

teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Ghost:” Matt. 28:19.

Pastor Green, a strong biblical believer in: 1) The King James Bible; 2) Discipleship
Training; and 3) Sending those students he trained, to reach 3-4 people a day, before
they went to sleep at night. The amazing fact was in 41 years of ministry in Germiston,
every 7 years he had a new congregation. When his church membership reached 2000,
every year for 27 years he would send out 250 families, to plant a new church; They
did this, the Lord providing work for these members on the move with their new pastor;
The work grew, God blessed, and their testimony won many souls, who took the step of
faith, got baptized and joined the church.

300 – 400 new members were added to Pastor Green’s church each year.

As many of our prayer partners are aware, I came to know the Lord as my Savior in
South Africa, on October 28th 1953. My Pastor was a missionary from England to
South Africa, and I came to know the Lord under his ministry. Pastor Green spent
many hours with the young people and me in Biblical discipleship and spiritual
warfare. Our main mission after discipleship classes was to go and share the Word
with two to three people each day, and so we did. We were given areas to minister in,
and I was sent to Doornfontein. At the age of 16, I went into the poorest inner-city
areas, (ghetto) to share the gospel. Every Saturday two of us would go door-knocking;
during this period of 16 months we had made approximately 1200 contacts, and out of
those contacts, 24 families got saved, baptized, joining the church.

I was very excited about Sunday school, and I wanted to teach a class. I went to
the Superintendent, who advised me that all the classes already had teachers and he
sent me to Pastor Green. Pastor Green encouraged me to pray and go and find
students in the neighborhood, that I could have my own class to teach, which I did.

A few weeks later one Sunday morning, I presented 9 young men aged fourteen
to sixteen years old, and Pastor looked at me saying, “Well done – now teach your
class”. These young men were saved and baptized and grew up to be successful
Christians and members of our church.

The first ones, David Damon and Richard Eldridge attended Bible College and
became pastors. Elion Chanquion became the Chief Civil Engineer in the city of
Johannesburg. There were three other brothers – their last name was Greene. One
became a Commercial Pilot, and the other two became Lawyers. The other three
young men became self employed artisans. Alex Murchesion, an Electrician;
Stephen Sutton, a Construction Builder; and Ralph Bartlett, a Plumber. All these
men grew up in the church, serving in the Youth department, and taught Sunday
school. The Lord blessed them financially.

This is just a little insight, into Discipleship, of how the Lord was preparing me for
future ministry, to become a “Fisher of Men” Matt. 4:19, and how to deal with
spiritual warfare (witch doctors, government officials, local white farmers, who
had a Religion and not a Relationship with Christ.)

The scripture God laid on my heart to confirm my calling and direction for
ministry, was: Romans 15: 20, 21, & 22. KJB.
Romans 15: 20, 21, 22, “Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where
Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation: 21: But as
it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not
heard shall understand. 22: For which cause also I have been much hindered from
coming to you.” KJB.

1. V 20: I was instructed to preach the gospel where no one else had been
before, by the Lord not to build upon man’s doctrine, or dogma, or
another man’s foundation church or ministry, But …

2. V21: But … to whom they that were not reached (with the Gospel of
Salvation) that they might see, and they that have not heard (the Gospel)
shall understand God’s plan of salvation and Eternal Life.

3. V22: During the past 42 years of our marriage and 13 years before I got married,
we clearly understand what the Apostle Paul meant when he said, “I have been much hindered”
we could spend hours sharing, the attacks of satan against us in the ministry, that he, satan, tried
to hinder the gospel from progressing. See Rom. 8: 22-39.
During this last year, we received many wonderful testimonies from the brethren in Africa, of people being
saved, baptized, added to the church, by the young disciples, (Street Evangelists) who go knocking doors,
sharing with 2, 3 and 4 people/families per day. They establish cell groups and prepare to plant mission
churches.

The Year 2007, we had 16 graduates from Bible College, 11 men, 5 ladies (Christian workers) …
Eleven churches were planted by these graduate pastors.
In 2008 there were 18 graduates, 11 men, 7 ladies … Eleven churches were planted;
In 2009 there were only 8 graduates, all men, who planted 8 new churches. Enrollment in January 2010 -
First year students, 9 men and 3 ladies are attending Bible College;
Urgent Prayer Request - Bible College Land Expropriation
The government of SA has notified the Bible College where we send our students to, that the 50
acres of land they own and occupy, is needed for a new Research Center, similar to the CDC in the USA.
This property is wedged between a large African University on the west side and on the east side by a large
African hospital (primarily for Hiv/Aids patients). The government requires this 50 acres of land to erect a
research and scientific center to develop a cure for Hiv/Aids and Malaria.
(Death caused from Malaria amongst the African People, has overtaken Hiv/Aids and Tuberculosis).
This Bible College has been in operation for 68 years – 50 acres of land were donated by a white
farmer for the training of African young men and women who have a call to ministry to reach the National
Indigenous people of Africa, with the Gospel of Salvation.
Please pray with us that the college directors will find suitable and/or better facilities for the students, to
continue in their mission, to educate and train young indigenous workers for the ministry in Southern Africa.
The government will expropriate the land and the College will be forced to move. They have until
July 2010 to make this move and are still in negotiation as their land is not only worth a lot more than they
have been offered, but it holds great sentimental value to those who have dedicated their lives and time to
prepare the Indigenous students for the work of the Lord.
Prov. 19:17 “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord;
and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” KJB.

The extra money at the year’s end is put into the Emergency Fund (for Indigenous

Christmas donations have been a great blessing to their families.
