Body Paragraph

The body paragraph is the main part of your


essay or paper. Each body paragraph
contains a topic sentence which tells the
reader about what the paragraph is going to
be about, the body paragraph contains a
thesis statement, which is your opinion and
should be well supported in each body
paragraph. Also each paragraph should have

a concluding sentence, supporting detains


and examples.
How to plan for the body of an essay
Firstly, look at your thesis statement, essay
map can be used to help discuss the point
mentioned, along with supporting points that
will help in writing an effective essay. Then
the structure of the essay is planned, that
includes the paragraphs.

Topic sentences mostly occurs as the first
sentence in the body paragraph, it is also
found in the second or last sentence. The
topic sentence follows the first sentence in

a paragraph for introductory and at the end


for conclusion with central points.

Paragraph Unity
This is basically where the paragraph all link
together; they relate to the main idea thats is

mentioned in the topic sentence. A


paragraph must adhere to its assigned
subject and must not be unrelated or leads
into another idea or discussion. In this way
the paragraph has unity.
Paragraph coherence
Coherence is essentially a good paragraph.
It means that all sentences and ideas in the

paragraph flows together to make a clear,


logical point about the topic. The reader
should be able to follow and interpret what
have been written in the paragraph,
transitional words and phrases, parallelism,
repetition of key word, recognizable order of
idea and substitution of pronoun for key
nouns can be used to gained coherence in a
paragraph.

The order of space- relates when the subject
is a physical object, the order should be left
to right, top to bottom, inside out and so
forth.

Deductive order- relates when the topic


sentence has proceeds to the supporting
details.
Inductive order- begins with examination of

point.

It helps the reader more smoothly reading


one thought to the next without losing the
readers attention of wanting to read more,
also that ideas wont appear disconnected

Repetition of key words


Relates when important words or phrases

A pronoun is a word that describes a noun,

sentence can be used.

Means the use of grammatically structure in

very well within the writing, this can be
done by adding a transitional device.
