F 0012: Fundamental Topics in Philosophy: an Intercultural Approach

This course focuses on some of the fundamental issues in philosophy, both

theoretical and practical. Taking a problem-based approach, a number of
problems will be considered: what is the right thing to do? What do we know? Is
multiculturalism good for all? Is there a connection between the political and
the ethical? Taking a multicultural-based approach, the idea of the course is to
facilitate students the tools and the space to discuss philosophical issues and
evaluate ideas and arguments in English. This is the task of philosophy: to
enhance ones ability to understand and defend ones view points, to see the
world from the perspective of other individuals and cultures.
