Be A Thinker

Think about the reason (Qur'an, 2:219)

They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and
[yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit."
And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess [beyond
needs]." Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses [of revelation] that you
might give thought.

Who gave it to you? (Qur'an, 2:266)

Would one of you like to have a garden of palm trees and grapevines
underneath which rivers flow in which he has from every fruit? But he is
afflicted with old age and has weak offspring, and it is hit by a whirlwind
containing fire and is burned. Thus does Allah make clear to you [His] verses
that you might give thought.

Remember to remember (Qur'an, 3:191)

Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and
give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord,
You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then
protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Where's the mistake? (Qur'an, 4:82)

Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other
than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction.

Learn to see and listen (Qur'an, 6:50)

Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not tell you that I have the depositories
[containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you
that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind
equivalent to the seeing? Then will you not give thought?"

Find the parable (Qur'an, 7:176)

And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered
[instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that
of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That
is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that
perhaps they will give thought.

He came to you (Qur'an, 7:184)*

Then do they not give thought? There is in their companion [Muhammad] no

madness. He is not but a clear warner.

Sip water, but gulp milk (Qur'an, 16:66-72)*

And indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from
what is in their bellies - between excretion and blood - pure milk, palatable to
drinkers.
16:67

And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and
good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason.
And your Lord inspired to the bee, "Take for yourself among the mountains,
houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct.
Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for
you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which
there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give
thought.
16:70

And Allah created you; then He will take you in death. And among you is he
who is reversed to the most decrepit [old] age so that he will not know, after
[having had] knowledge, a thing. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Competent.
16:71

And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision. But those who
were favored would not hand over their provision to those whom their right
hands possess so they would be equal to them therein. Then is it the favor of
Allah they reject?
16:72
Sahih International

And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you
from your mates sons and grandchildren and has provided for you from the
good things. Then in falsehood do they believe and in the favor of Allah they
disbelieve?

In destruction is a Mercy (Qur'an, 28:43)

And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former
generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that
they might be reminded.

Connect both your lives (Qur'an, 30:8)

Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens
and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified

term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with
their Lord, are disbelievers.

Who entwined your hearts? (Qur'an, 30:21)*

And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you
may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and
mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

Reading is not enough (Qur'an, 38:29)

[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that
they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be
reminded.

Love your soul's freedom (Qur'an, 39:42)*

Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He
takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death
and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a
people who give thought.

Weigh it out (Qur'an, 40:58)

And not equal are the blind and the seeing, nor are those who believe and do
righteous deeds and the evildoer. Little do you remember.

Qur'an equals key (Qur'an, 47:24)

Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an, or are there locks upon [their]
hearts?

The other half (Qur'an, 51:49)

And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember.

Create it, if you dare (Qur'an, 56:59-65)

Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?

56:60

We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone

56:61

In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form]
which you do not know.
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not
remember?
56:63

And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?

Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in
wonder,
