2016 Acadia Relays School Co-Ed T&F Meet

Raymond Field - Acadia University


On Friday, May 6th, 2016, the Acadia Relays (an NSSAF sanctioned Open
Track and Field competition) will be held at Acadia Universitys Raymond Field
starting at 3:00 pm. This is the original site where the first provincial high school
competition was held in 1926.
Acadia is proud to celebrate this Co-Ed School Track and Field Meet. Now in
its 4th year, this competition will feature 3 Co-Ed Team Relay races and 2 Co-Ed
Field events and a Special Olympics 100 Meter race for males and females. There
are two age group categories:
1) Middle School - Grades 6, 7 and 8.
2) High School- Grades 9 to 12.
All 6 events for each category will stand alone (no team aggregate awards)
having individual medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Relay teams will have
2 females and 2 males and the field events have one male and one female.

4:30 pm High School Co-Ed 4X100m Relay:

5:15 pm Middle School Co-Ed 4x100m Relay:

6:00 pm Senior High Co-Ed 4x400m Relay: (Record Horton 4:09.46 2015) timed final
6:30 pm Middle School Co-Ed 4x400 Relay:

FIELD EVENTS
3:00 pm High School Co-Ed High Jump: (Record West Kings 3:00 M - 2015) Note 2 Jump attempts per height best final totals for each school Co-Ed team. The
starting height will be 1.10 M. Boys and girls will jump together. As the bar moves
upward at 5 cm. per height, the competition will end to the last maximum height.
Again, an example would be a boy and a girl from the same school would take
their best jumps, lets say 1.30 + 1.60 = 2.90 and so on. Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
best aggregate.
4:30 pm Middle School Co-Ed High Jump: (Record Riverside - 2.80 M 2015) - same
as above except the starting height will be 1.00 M.
3:00 pm High School Co-Ed Shot Put: (Record Kings Edgehill 22.09 M)
4 Throws each - 1 female, 1 male best throw each for a combined total age
class shot puts will be used girls shot and boys shot.
4:30 pm Middle School Co-Ed Shot Put: (Record Hantsport 14.48M 2015) Same
as senior event age class shot puts will be used for the girls and boys.
Please note :
*A student may compete in any 2 events. (example - HJ and 4x400 Relay) and
schools can register 2 teams per event. (example two Co-Ed 4x100 Relay teams
or two shot put teams).
*On the electronic entry form, it is not necessary to enter students names just
indicate if you are entering one or two teams per event. There will be a $10.00
entry fee per athlete to a maximum of $100 per school age category. (2 categories
Middle and High School) Payment deadline is on the day of the meet.

* No teams can be made up from different schools.


* All athletes must wear school uniforms.
* Shoe spike length 5 mm (same for the High Jump on the main field)
*Standing Start for all relays no Starting Blocks! * Early registration important
there will be a 24 team maximum for each event. Three heats for each of the 3
Relay events 8 lane track.
*Field events Maximum of 24 girl/boy teams for each of the Shot Put and High
Jump events. Entrees are on a first come, first serve basis.
*New for this year (2016) is that all relay teams have to run in a gender alternate
sequence with either a girl/boy/girl/boy order or the opposite with a
boy/girl/boy/girl order!
*The High Jump and Shot Put will take place on the main field directly in front of
the main grandstand so every event can be viewed from the stadium seating
area! Also there is free admission for all students, teachers and parents.
*This meet is a sanctioned N.S.S.A.F. competition the events are the first official
Mixed provincial records.
