PARKING AT FIRST PRES

Part of making our church a welcoming place for guests is
to make our campus as accessible as possible.
Take advantage of our parking garage across the street.
The church shares ownership in this garage and helps to
maintain it so our members can easily find free parking
every Sunday and during the week.
Street and on-campus parking is for visitors, seniors and
those who need extra accessibility to the buildings.
If you are a church member and would like to purchase
a parking card for the church garage for $10, please stop
by the lobby desk at Edington Ministry Center during the
week to complete the application.

NOTES

traditional
W O R S H I P

Crucifixion was designed to be one of the most excruciating,

degrading, and lengthy deaths imaginable. It was most
likely invented by the Assyrians five to six hundred years
before Christ. Death would occur any time between
six hours and four days. The purpose was to humiliate
and intimidate any who would oppose the ruling power
which is why they were always very public. In this mode
of bringing death, Jesus absorbed the depth of physical
pain, of alienation from His Father, the horror of evil, and
death itself willingly when He could have called myriads of
angels at any moment to rescue Him from this black hole
of evil, but He didnt. The nails hanging from the cross on
the chancel silently speak again of the depth of Christs
love for each of us who have gathered for worship. Take
these early moments of preparation to again thank Jesus
for His incalculable sacrifice in atoning for your sin.
