A Letter to the Residents of
Northwest Independent School District

Independent School District
My name is Kerry Jones, and I am
running for NISD School Board,
Place 3. I have lived in the school
district since 2000 and have raised
my family here which includes
three sons, two of whom have
graduated from Northwest High
School. What makes me unique
from the other candidates is that
I have worked for NISD for the
previous 17 years, longer than
any current board member has
served. This provides me with the
advantage of knowing the district
along with its policies, as well as
practices of previous years. I am
committed to staying current in
all areas of education due to my
current position as a counselor
with the Grapevine-Colleyville
ISD, as education is my profes-
sion and life. I therefore believe

this makes me the ideal
candidate for school board
and a child advocate.
My formal education, with
a Master’s in Education
and Counseling and Prin-
cipal’s Certification, has
taught me the importance
of a quality education in-
volving professional learn- The Jones Family: Kerry, Matt, Isaiah, and Josh
ing communities, as well
as innovative practices and
partnerships. A quality educa-
tion for our children must involve
servant leadership partnered
with result-oriented, success-
driven goals to prepare them for
post-secondary education and the
transition to adult life.
I have the experience of a “Fast-
Growing School District” with
Northwest and the many issues
that it faces. The district staff and

facilities must grow respectively
as the district population grows,
with emphasis on classroom
teachers and campus personnel,
while maintaining a fiscally sound
budget and tax rate.
