Unitized Welded Galvanized Steel Frame

Unitized welded galvanized steel frame construction

makes this the most durable Unit Ventilator you can buy.

The AAF-HermanNelson unitized frame (see

Figure 7-3) resists vibration loosening and the
chain reaction of problems this can cause. It will
be as strong and as accurately assembled in 25 years
as it is the first day of installation. This construc-
tion assures correct alignment of fan shaft and
bearings, and prevents binding of dampers.
The AAF-HermanNelson Unit Ventilator is truly
engineered and manufactured to resist abuse over
the years.

Draw-Thru Design Results In Uniform Coil Face

Velocity And Even Discharge Air Temperatures

The AAF-HermanNelson Draw-Thru principle is

one of the most significant factors that sets the
AAF-HermanNelson apart from most competitive
models. With this system, fans draw air through the
entire heat transfer element (see Figure 8-2), rather
than blowing it through highly concentrated areas
of the element (see Figure 8-3).
Coil
There are two reasons why AAF-HermanNelsons
Draw-Thru Design is so effective:

(1) Draw-thru design provides uniform discharge

air temperatures.

Controller (UVC)
The brain of the HermanNelson Classroom Unit
Ventilators MicroTech DDC system is a micropro-
cessor-based board (UVC) located in the left end
compartment of the Unit Ventilator. The MicroTech
UVC utilizes digital control strategies to maintain
programmed heating, cooling and ventilation
setpoints. See Figure 12-1.

Dead Band
The AAF-HermanNelson MicroTech DDC system
utilizes separate heating and cooling setpoints. This
energy saving feature permits one-time setting of
the desired heating and cooling temperatures. This
eliminates the need to make seasonal thermostat
adjustments. The dead band is factory set at 6F. Figure 12-1. MicroTech Unit Ventilator Controller (UVC)
