1.The platforms/plans presented by the Duterte-Cayetano tandem were about the

following issues:
Crime Aside from increasing the salaries of the policemen, they have planned to
put CCTVs on major areas for a modernized crime-detecting country. Aside from
this, they want to bring back the death penalty specifically for drug abuse,
kidnapping, rape, murder, etc.
Corruption Pass the freedom of information act, monitor government offices by
putting surveillance cameras.
Drugs After -6 months after the elections, he tandem promised to go after the
drug lords here in the country.
Economic Development The tandems plan is to spread economic growth
throughout the country and decongest Metro Manila.
Agriculture and Fisheries The tandem plans on providing free irrigation and
subsidized fertilizer and seeds for farmers, reduce food cost for up to 50%, and
create a department of fisheries so that they would no longer be part of the
department of agriculture.
OFWs and Other Workers To improve the labor conditions of Filipino workers
by implementing an act that disregards the people who earn 20,000/month from
tax, create a Filipino bank for overseas workers for more safety, etc.
Metro Manila Transportation Improving trains by adding more carriages and
liking trains to seaports.
Education To double the salaries of teachers and to build more and better
classrooms.
Disasters and Climate Change Create an emergency response department.
I personally believe that they should be elected in the office because almost all of the
other candidates have been participating in politics for quite some time now and yet they
still havent done anything big. Well, lets say that they have accomplished a few things
but nothing really big/nothing that really made an impact. On the other hand, I think that
Duterte is being determined on actually changing the country. Yes, he may sometimes
have a dirty mouth but I find him very genuine and honest in everything that he says
unlike all the other candidates who talk like everything that comes out of their mouths are
well planned or scripted.
2.I think that the main weakness of the plans enumerated above is the time needed in
implementing them. Filipinos want change and they want it quick but the plans of
Duterte and Cayetano require major changes thus results to major adjustments as well.
The strengths that I see on the other hand is that since Duterte is known for being a leader
that the people fear, I think that for the first time in a long time, the Filipinos will start
obeying the rules that he will implement. Im not saying that fear is the main key to a
successful country but sometimes, when dealing with a country that is stubborn and too
abusive of the freedom (like the Philippines), it is important to have a leader that can

really stop the people from being abusive. I think that his plan on putting CCTVs is a
huge step in lessening the crimes here in the country as well.
3.According to the disciplines, the plans of Duterte-Cayeto is leading towards a success. I
think that the tandem has plans that are not easy to implement right away, but by being
realistic and managing the time and resources well, it is possible to achieve all of these
changes for our country. I also think that the plans are very realistic which shows one
thing about the tandem they understand the country, therefor, they will know how to
take action.
