the South

It is well-known all over the world that wars have always their
horribly devastating influences on the countries and their peoples,
but what is not perceptible is that wars also carry good news for the
country and its people. In general, not in playing a role in decreasing
the population of the country, but, to some extent, war may become
a main factor in making some progresses or advances in some
social, medical, industrial or military fields as in Gaza where the
Islamic Resistance Movements could achieve the military selfsufficiency in spite of the siege, and as recently in South Yemen
benefited from Al-Houthi-Affash Aggression. In my opinion, despite
the massive damage it caused recently for the southern cities, the
Houthi-Saleh's aggressive war on the South has brought unexpected
benefits for the southern issue such as in unifying the Southerns and
revealing the wiliness of the Northern Authorities towards the South
to the world peoples to let them know the justice of Southern issue.
First of all, the Northern Houtho-Affashi's aggression led the
Southerns to move to the same direction which is the resistance
side. The Southern people reached to this because the last Northern
group had some respect in South as it was not part of the 1994
aggression, the Houthi group that its leadership used to -before they
could control Sana'a- repeatedly claim their standing up for the
Southern issue and the rights of southern people, they finally allied
with the biggest criminal of Yemen, Ali A. Saleh Affash, to carry
out an unjust war in which they did war crimes against the Southern

people in most of the southern cities, majorly in Aden, Al-Dhalea,

Lahj, Abian and Shabwa governorates. This aggressive war,
unpredictably, pushed the southerns to unify into one entity called
the Southern Resistance which was formed from the Southern
people with all its spectra of their political pertinence and party
orientations, in order to defend their cities and areas. Also, this war
was a key factor that helped for discarding the Northern
occupation's forces, Affash and Ali Mohsen Alahmer's forces, from
most of the South cities.
The second advantage of this war for the Southerns and their
issue is that it showed the world how fraudulent, evil, unjust and
unfair the Northern authorities are. They always, in the past,
betrayed the Southern officials since the beginning of the Yemen
Unity for instance, by implementing assassinations against the
south leaders, and since they used to hide the crime offenders to let
it be registered by anonymous, they were not even blamed of it.
Contrarily, they recently declared the war and went against the Arab
Gulf's will, so, the justifications of their evil intentions and tricks
against the Southern people were entirely bared. It was very
obvious that the Houthi's militias and Affash's forces had been
trying to invade all the southern areas using fabricated justification
by the name of fighting the terrorism, which essentially is their
made, just to conceal their evil aims of re-invading the South and
controlling its properties, but this time they were so exposed to
Southerns, the Gulf and Arab countries. As a result, their aggression
pushed the southerns to one side, it unified the Southern People
with all its spectra of their political pertinence and party orientations
into one side, one unified entity called the Southern Resistance.
On the other hand, the majority of people in and outside
South disapprove the idea at all. They think the war brought the
worst things, no more. They say that it brought all kinds of damage
for not only cities, but also the houses in rural areas, and it killed
thousands of innocent citizens everywhere in the country, in
addition to destroying even the relationships amongst people
themselves, or amongst the tripes, amongst political paries, and
also between them and authorities, in the local and national sides.

To sum up, I think that Affash and Al-Houthi's war was an

opportunity for the Southerns to push them to unify together and
helped the world to recognize the reality about the southern issue.
So, the Houthis and Affashese are supposed to be thanked in
another sort of appreciation for what they did for South. They
should receive unusual thanks from the muzzles of mortars, from
the barrels of the missiles. Thanks that they deserve as they
brought us the worst since the nineties.
