Pasado simple del verbo "To be"

El pasado simple del verbo "To be" (ser o estar) se forma cambiando las
formas "am" e "is"por "was" y la forma "are" por "were".
simple.
A continuacin veremos las formas afirmativa, negativa en interrogativa del verbo "to be" en
pasado:
Afirmativa:
I was: yo era o yo estaba.
You were: t eras o t estabas.
He was: l era o l estaba.
She was: ella era o ella estaba.
It was: eso era o eso estaba.
We were: nosotros eramos o nosotros estbamos.
You were: vosotros erais o vosotros estabais.
They were: ellos eran o ellos estaban.
Negativa:
I was not: yo no era o yo no estaba.
You were not: t no eras o t no estabas.
He was not: l no era o l no estaba.
She was not: ella no era o ella no estaba.
It was not: eso no era o eso no estaba.
We were not: nosotros no eramos o nosotros no estbamos.
You were not: vosotros no erais o vosotros no estabais.
They were not: ellos no eran o ellos no estaban.
Interrogativa:
Was I?: era yo? o estaba yo?
Were you?: eras t? o estabas t?
Was he?: era l? o estaba l?
Was she?: era ella? o estaba ella?
Was it?: era eso? o estaba eso?
Were we?: eramos nosotros? o estabamos nosotros?
Were you?: erais vosotros? o estabais vosotros?
Were they?: eran ellos? o estaban ellos?
Ejemplos:
He was my friend when I was twelve years old l era mi amigo cuando yo tena doce aos.
I wasn't at school at half-past eleven Yo no estaba en el colegio a las once y media.
Were they at home yesterday? Estaban ellos ayer en casa? (no confundir "where (donde)"
con were).
was not wasn't
were not weren't

frases negativas (did not didn't) e interrogativas.
bought).
A continuacin una breve explicacin:
Afirmativa:
Se pone en pasado el verbo principal:
-My sister bought a dress yesterday (Mi hermana compr un vestido ayer).
-Last weekend we walked the dog (El fin de semana pasado nosotros paseamos al perro).
Negativa:
-My sister (1) didn't buy a dress yesterday (Mi hermana no compr un vestido ayer).
-Last weekend we didn't walk the dog (El fin de semana pasado nosotros no paseamos al
perro).
(1)

fijaros que "My sister" es lo mismo que "She", es decir 3 persona del singular y an as la
forma "did" no cambia como en el presente simple (do does). Tampoco cambiar en la
interrogativa.
Interrogativa:
-Did my sister buy a dress yesterday? (Compr mi hermana un vestido ayer?)
-Did we walk the dog last weekend?
