Watson: 1am seeking the immediate cancellation of tomorrow's Chicago Board of Election Commissioner's meeting and for all business conducted by the Chicago Board of Elections Commissioners after April 194 2015 to be found to be conducted without a duly authorized Board of Elections Commission and therefor to be null and void. Whereas Illinois Statue 5/6-22 requires that the Board of Election Commission consist of 2 leading political parties, there is no Republican sitting on the Board of Commissioner and there has not been one since Commissioner Richard Cowen ‘succumbed to cancer on April 19, 2015. (G0 Ics 5/6-22)Two of such commissioners at least shall always be selected from the 2 leading political parties of the state, one from each of such parties, and 311 shall be legal voters residing in such city, village or incorporated town, and be persons of well known political convictions and of approved integrity and capacity.Whereas ilinois Statute 516-21 requires that all Boards of Commissions consist of 3 members, the Board has only had 2 members since April 19, 2015 and has not been a duly authorized Board of Elections Commission since April 194, 2015. Whereas llinois Statute 516-21 permits in an instance that a position becomes vacant that the Court has 60 days to re- authorize anew Commissioner, the Chief Judge, Honorable Tim Evans, has failed to do so. Therefor, all business conducted by the unauthorized Board of Elections Commissioners was done without the authority of llinois Law and must be considered null and void. | request that tomorrow's meeting be immediately cancelled and that all votes taken, business transacted, and meetings held after April 19" be considered as done without a lawfully seated Chicago Board of Elections Commissioners. There is no excuse for the Chicago Board of Elections Commissioners to have only single party representation for 206 days, nearly 7 full months. The voters of Illinois deserve 2 party representation as provided by Illinois election code in the largest voting authority of illinois.
