sanctions led to the deaths of
between 200,000 and a million children
under five, depending on source. Poisoning
from depleted uranium weaponsbanned
by the Geneva Conventionprobably led to
many thousands more.
In the 2003 war, the U.S. again used
depleted uranium weapons. Iraqi death
counts have not been published.
