• Each student will have a few moments to utilize the iPod and review
steps and procedures first hand.
Activity:
• Orally review and ask questions about the steps and procedures
practiced.
Objectives:
• Talk about their books daily in small groups.
• Help students learn to think about the books they read, and to ask
questions about books shared by other students.
• Become motivated readers.
• Begin conversations with the use of prompts.

• Random use of cards to promote discussions and generate
conversations about the literature content and readers viewpoints.

• Practice selecting cards and beginning discussions.
Activity:
Discussion.
• Compare and Contrast sharing about recess and sharing about a
book.
• Does sharing create lasting memories? At recess? After Reading?
• Do we enjoy hearing about others experiences? Why or why not?
• Discuss goals and outcomes from learning what others read about.
Summary & Notes:
• Begin with a few prompts, and then ask your students to add others
that they feel would stimulate conversation.
