Military police investigators
yesterday were still searching
for the two thieves who broke
into this post exchange Wednes-
day night. A spokesman for
the investigators reported that
no new clues or suspects have
been found.
The spokesman, an informed
source who asked not to be
named, said the investigators
were "swarming all over the
PX taking samples of finger
prints." But he stressed that
he did not know if the prints
had led the investigators to
the identity of the criminals.
He said several persons were
picked up Wednesday , night
and yesterday morning who
answered to the description of
the two ; thi.eyes. However, he
said all suspects were released
when each had established a
positive alibi.
The thieves, who mad"3 a
clean getaway, are believed to
be -Koreans, the spokesman
said. But he said no positive
identification as to nationality
had been confirmed.

The Unit competition is de-
signed to find the most out-
standing company in Eighth
Army. The winning unit, which
will receive a seven-day leave
in Japan, will prove itself the
best in sports activities a n d
military proficiency ratings.
Eighth Army finals will be
held in Seoul June 14-19.

Jan. 15 (Pac.. S&S)—The 662nd
MP Co., the first to arrive in
Korea, will guard and direct
traffic "if and when" PWs at
the South Indian camps are
released to go south, it was
announced here today.
Tentatively scheduled for
Jan. 23, part of the exodus of
former prisoners will take
place over Route 1 and will be
handled throughout I Corps by
'.he MPs in conjunction with
other military units in the
area.
The 622nd arrived in Korea

KComZ Readies

TAEGU, Korea, Jan. 15—
Preparations for the return of
Chinese ex-prisoners of war are
being completed today at Ko-
rean Communications Zone
Task Force Olson headquarters
in Munsan-ni.
A dry run of truck convoys
from the vicinity of the de-
militarized zone to a staging
area at Ascom pity will be
run Jan. 18, according to Col.
Harding L. Olson, commanding
the 34th Regt., 24th Div. The
34th is assigned to KComZ for.
the operation.
Meanwhile, at Ascom City,
extensive preparations are be-
ing made for the rostering,
clothing, feeding and tempora-
ry housing of about 14,000 Chi-
nese PWs now in the care
of the Indian custodial forces.
After the processing at the
Ascom staging area, convoys
will move the ex-PWs to In-
chon, where they will board
LSTs and sail for Formosa.
Trains of the 3rd TMRS and
Korean national railway will be
used to carry both Chinese
and Korea sick or injured per-
sonnel as well as all of the
more than 7,000 Koreans now
in the demilitarized zone.
KComZ medical personnel are
working with 24th Div. medics
and units of the Eighth Army
to provide medical care on
hospital trains, convoy routes
and at all, points during :the
operation.

Yesterday, Korea was pelted

Winter in Korea had been
milder than usual. Yesterday,
these stark hills that know no
friend in winter swallowed as
much as six inches of snow.

Japan yesterday after a two-
day inspection tour of .medical

ific Fleet -medical officer, and
Capt. Winhie Gibson, director
of the Navy's Nurse Corps.
The Admiral was forced to
cancel a stop in Sasebo when
weather closed in and prevent-
ed his landing there. The
party landed at Opamma Naval
Air Station shortly after noon.
Pugh will attend a luncheon
to be held in his honor at the
Navy hospital today, and will
leave Japan for the Philip-
pines tonight.
