We enjoyed some food and fellowship along with some business.
• The Treasurer’s report shows us to be in good standing with regard
to the overall budget (larger than expected Plate offering) but we are experiencing a cash flow problem. At times throughout the year more bills come due than funds on hand. Two causes generally, 1) we are between endowment payments and 2) slow pledge payments. We were reminded how important timely pledge payments are to the day to day operations of the church. We were also reminded that Memorial Flower sponsorships are low. To sponsor a Sunday please speak to Lisa in the office. Cost is $35. • Father Warren presented to requests made of the Parish. o The community ministry fund has some grant funds available and is seeking applications. o Fr. Dee Bright wrote to each Parish in the Diocese asking for financial help to replace the heating system at St. Peter’s. • There was a request from Keith Wheeler and Dan Arnold to hold a Spaghetti Supper/Hope for Housing Awareness Event. Date TBD but likely 4/17. • Much of the meeting was devoted to processing the PMC Vestry retreat. The Vestry Retreat was held 2/20 at Good Shepherd Clinton. Our facilitator was Fr. Will Bergman. Some may remember him from a pulpit swap in 2008. We will have hosted the Good Shepherd Vestry for their PMC Vestry retreat (Sat. 3/13) by the time you are reading this. Fr. Warren will facilitate for them. The purpose of the retreat was to discern a missional challenge as we enter year two of the three year PMC process. Through a variety of excercises which utilized the data gathered by our listening leaders and from our Parish Discernment event we came up with the following Missional Challenge: o To build and support community through a variety of relationships. To become a more welcoming community Step 1 – Discover who our neighbors are, and what their needs and resources are Step 2 Engage and work within or ecumenical relationships Step 3 Share hospitality by offering space, resources and the welcoming presence of Jesus Christ Then next phase of the PMC process will be to identify parishioners who will do the experimenting over the next year. These folks will become our Missional Engagement Team. If you’re interested in being part of this work please speak to Chris Wychorski, Dale Burton, Melanie Silva or a member of the Vestry
• We concluded with prayers for the concerns of the Vestry and the St. Luke’s Community
