We have explained to you the use of future perfect and its structures.
Now you will read a text about the Mayans and some prophecies they
wrote, that have to do with the environment in the year 2012.
After you have read the text The fourth Maya prophecy, write a short
composition with your own predictions for the year 2012 using future
perfect (50-80 words) in word 2003. When you have finished your
activity, save it in your PC and send it to assessor with all your
personal information and do not forget to include on your document
apellido paterno_materno_nombre_#activity.
My own predictions for the year 2012
Human beings have deplored the ecosystems and environment due to the exponential
increased in population since the past century. As a consequence, we will have
experienced the effects of the over exploitation of natural resources and thus the
produced pollution. Until now, in average, approximately four nuclear tests have been
done per month since the Manhattan Project back in the 1940s, the technological
change has contributed to fasten production and the capitalist consumption tendency
has increased the demand of almost everything, including things that are not necessary
in our daily lives. These facts will have showed to have consequences that will have
contributed to the fatalities in the year 2012.
The elements sited above are just enough to predict some events that will have occurred,
as a result of the human unconsciousness, before the year 2012 its over. The first will
have been the disappearance of many species in rivers and forests because of high
concentrations of lithium in water and the expansion of urban areas. The second, more
people will have died after being diagnosed with different types of cancer in hospitals
around the world. The third, international conflicts will have appeared after some
countries begin to claim for economic and power hegemony. The fourth, car accidents
will have increased as a consequence of people using smart phones while driving,
killing hundreds of thousands of drivers and pedestrians. The fifth, there will have
happened tornadoes of grade 5 in the Fujita scale and some others will have formed in
unexpected areas such as suburbs or communities away from flat lands. This will have
occurred due to the increased in temperature on the atmosphere as a result of pollution
that will have caused the millions of vehicles and factories. The sixth, many living
organisms in the ocean will have changed their reproductive capabilities and cycles
because of the high consumption of medicine whose active substances and chemicals
are later poured into the sewage by urine. Those will have ended up in the oceans

waters and there will have been a reduction in the population of species. Finally the
seventh, I will have suffered, experienced or witnessed the results of the past six events
as a citizen of this chaotic world.
