A JOURNEY OF THOUSAND MILES BEGINS WITH A SINGLE STEP

I start my presentation to the topic with a quote

“A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes”

Illusions become realties; myths become undeniable truths, unachievable tasks

Are achieved, success stories are written on the pages of history by ordinary
people with their indomitable courage. In the light of above, individuals become
icons, nations become role model, inventions are made, new horizons are
discovered and as a result whole world is revolutionized, all this become possible
when that very initial step is taken to achieve one’s goals .There is one famous
saying

“Where there is a will, there is a way”

It is evident from the circle of life that first thought, first idea, and first step is not
only crucial but also the most critical one in deciding the fate of the future , that
initial step not also fades away the fear that is incorporated in the human beings,
but also encourages the self belief to go on the high , and when the inner notes are
perfectly coherent , impossible becomes possible. Castles that are build in dreams,
are turned into milestones with initial step. To go further there is one more perfect
saying

“If you wish to succeed in life, make perseverance your bosom friend, experience
your wise counselor, caution your elder brother, and hope your guardian genius.”

When we move through the history we come across numerous people who in
phase of darkness emerged as leaders , when every one around them was
frightened to take the first step , let me tell you a story from past of a person whom
we regard as the best scientist :

“once a man was trying to develop the electricity bulb and in the process he
performed thousand experiments, but he failed again and again, but such was the
determination of the man, that when asked was he frightened he would not achieve
the goal in his life time, and the reply of that person is worth listening he replied
that my efforts are first step toward the creation of electricity bulb, at least another
scientist will not perform these thousand experiments “

And that scientist was Addison who invented more than one hundred inventions
in his lifetime, the lesson we get from the answer is quite clear that the first step is
always a beginning of journey with thousand miles. There is another saying
“Turn your face to the sun and the shadows will fall behind you”

Well , the rule of thumb is not only followed by the human beings but it is also
followed by the nature, animals and every living specie on this mother earth, we
on so many occasions have come across a story which is storming our mind for
many a years the first flight of a seagull , where an offspring is motivated by its
parent seagull to take the first step , how that offspring is kept starved for many a
days , and then desperate for food that offspring overcome its fear and take that
step and flies in the air , so that very first step guides him whole his life through ,
if we resemble that very story with human beings that totally apply on the life of
every individual . To complement the above story there is a saying

“No bird soars too high, until it soars with its own wings “

So far, we have come to a point that taking the first step alone will always result
in success , but let not be carried away with the fact that with how much
conviction one take that initial step , because if conviction is lagging then the
destination will fall far beyond the reach, and the hurdles in the way to final
objective will always question on the integrity of initial step so the initial step
should not also be taken but it should also be taken with full conviction, because it
will help the journey of thousand miles look too short , there is a famous saying

“Rise above the storm and you will find the sunshine”

I give you examples from the past that how the initial step created icons from the
mere individuals with full conviction, let me start with the revolution of Islam
where Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) spread his revelations in 23 years only which is
the biggest miracle, Nelson Mandela spent 23 years of his life in prison for the
rights of BLACK people in Africa and it is worth mentioning here that the cell in
which he spent his 23 years , he could not stretch his legs, Helen Keller which was
deaf and blind but she become the ray of hope for many a people , Mother Teresa,
Edhai, there are many, many more examples from which we can organize our lives
Someone has said that

“Hope is not a dream but a way of making dreams become reality”

I conclude my speech with the determination and faith that I will take the first step
on this vary day to make my country prosperous and a nation respectable in the
comity of the nations

“shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars”

“A man who develops himself is born twice”
