Supporting families of children and young people with SEN/additional needs


Education, Health and Care Plan Training for Parents
For those transferring from a statement/LDA to an EHC plan
We have organised 8 sessions- 6 daytime and 2 Saturday sessions and all will be
facilitated by Jon Ralphs from Helen Sanderson Associates and the SEN team. The
transition team and the Independent Supporters service will also be involved.
All the sessions are bookable via Eventbrite and are for 25 people only.

Workshop-Parents only

Family is coming to run the workshop.
The coping and support workshop will help to
identify stress and its impact on family life,
look at the causes of stress, and provide tips

on how to cope plus sources of advice and

This seminar covers common sleep issues in children with disabilities / additional
needs / autism examining the impact of behaviour and environment on sleep. Seminar
content will include the impact of sleep deprivation, how we sleep, how much sleep, resources to aid sleep, common sleep strategies, implementing sleep strategies and other help available to support sleep issues in children with disabilities / additional needs

Behaviour Management 1:1 Sessions


We are running 1:1 behaviour management sessions with Andreas Arnmar again this term. We have spaces for 12 parents this term who will have an initial session and one
follow up session about a month or so later. These sessions will be FREE provided you
attend both your booked slots.
Deposit
When we ran these sessions last year we wasted a lot of funding through nonattendance so this year we are introducing a deposit system which will be returned
once both sessions have been attended.
The deposit will be 20( which is half the cost we pay for your 2 sessions) which will
need to be paid within 5 days of booking to secure your space. If payment is not
received within 5 days, your booking will be cancelled
If you do not attend or cancel too late for us to book someone else in, we will cash the
deposit as payment for non- attendance. If you attend both sessions, the deposit will
be returned to you.
Dates:
There are 2 dates to choose from for an initial session and then 2 dates for follow up.
Please check that you have booked the correct dates.
Initial sessions are either 29th Sept or 6th October

Follow up sessions are either 10th November or 17th November. The booking links will
only allow you to book for one person but you are welcome to bring someone along with
you if needed.

spaces for 6 parents this term who will have an initial session (50 minutes)and one
follow up session about a month or so later, also 50 minutes. These sessions will be
FREE provided you attend both your booked slots.
