WHAT

YEAR!

We can surely says "Bless the Lord, o my souls and all that is within me,
bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all his be
nefits"

Psl.

103: 1-2.

1. PREACHING.

On the first Lord's day of 1974 I preached 3 sermons and on the last Lord's
day I preached 2 sermons.

During the year of 1974 I preached 120 sermons.

2. FAITH PROMISE RALLIES AND MISSIONARY RALLIES.

Like never before I

held 12 most succesful Faith Promise Rallies and

Missionary Rallies. Despite uncertainty in economical situation all goals

were reached and exceeded what proved that Christians have strong faith that
Lord will provide and that they are concerned very much about salvation of
souls and growth of mission work.
3. CONVENTIONS AND POLISH PREACHERS.

Again like never before we were able to attend 3 great conventions:

North American Christian Convention, World Convention of Churches of Christ
and National Missionary Convention.
It was our great privilege to bring to this country 6 Polish preachers and
one Christian lady with whom we visited over 70 churches across this
land
-

and attended 2 great Conventions of our Brotherhood.

Our Polish guests

were

very much impressed with American Churches and also American Brethren

were

very much impressed with the Polish preachers and their work in Poland.
4. PUBLICATIONS AND BIBLES.

New song book was published, previous publications were repeated and
cause of great demand we have to repeat all our publications in 1975.
Our Polish magazine is very popular everywhere and with grateful hearts

be
we

entered into 16th year of this publication.

Hundreds of Bibles and New Testaments in different longuages were

sent

to

people who asked for it.

5. RADIO.

Each week from 3 different stations w^ send the messages of Christ

lish, Russian and Ukrainian people in USA and in Europe.
Many letters of thanks, inquiries and requests for literature and Bibles
received by us.

to Po
were

We thank God for this great ministry.

Bro. Winnik prepares all programs and sends out hundreds of packages with li
terature, Bibles and New Testaments,
6. POLAND.

The best relationship with Polish chur.ches, preachers and Christian workers

was maintained. We supplied them with song books, literature and Bibles. We

helped to renovate several houses of worship, supported Christian Service

Camp, helped preachers. The largest amount of money was sent to Poland through
Polish Trading Corporation toward the work there. As result of this ministry
many souls accepted Christ.
7. VISITORS.

Like never before we had many visitors in our home from Poland and U.S.A.

Dela spent many hours preparing meals and making our guests comfortable
in
our home. Some days we lodged over 10 people. There were blessed moments
of fellowship and sharing news about our ministry.
We thank God for such Christian friends.

Dela, in addition to all housewife's duties, translated many songs and

ar

ticles, answered hundreds of letters, packed hundreds of packages with

clothing to Poland, wrote contributor's letters, etc. I thank God for

used
her

and. her dedicated work.

8. BALTIMORE AND EASTERN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE.

When I am home I go often with Dela to Baltimore to call on people in homes,

hospitals and home for aged people. Also we take active part in the services
and work of the Church. In 1974 I performed 2 wedding ceremonies, led
Bible
studies during the prayer meetings, preached and attended all board meetings.
At E.C.C. I

teach Missions and I am

on the staff of administration.

There are many more things to share with you but we are out of space in this
newsletter, so we will write about them in the next issue.

All great things happened to us not by chance but by God who bestowed

upon

us all His blessings and it is not because we deserved it, but because
prayed and helped us in our great work for the Lord.

It is our privilege to serve the Lord and you.

Thank you once more for your support and please stay behind us faithfully in
1975 also.

Dear Friends?

Two months of 1975 are gone already, but what was done for the Lord to exalt
His great name has great value.
In the months of January and February I and Dela were able to visit few chur
ches with the message from God's Word.
We had a blessed time with the Wyoming Ave. Christian Church in Kingston, Pa.
where Bro. Ed. John is ministering. This church is very much interested in the
work in Poland,

Then we went to Ft. Myers, Fla. where Dela stayd with Bro. and Sister
Deem,
our beloved old friends, where during the Revival m.-ietings at Southside Chris
tian Church where Bro. David Beavers preaches, we met many friends and I spoke
one night.
January 29 - February 2 I had great privilege to lead a Faith Promise
Rally
at the Engelwood Christian Church, Jacksonville, Fla. where Bro. Fred Smith is
preaching. I thought that it was one of the greatest Rallies, but one dear sis
ter corrected me. She said; "It was the greatest and the best from all rallies'.'

The goal set before the Congregation for $ 50,000.00 was easily surpassed
reached $ 60,000,00.

and

Praise God!

It is hard for me to describe the great fellowship and great interest in

mi

ssion of everyone in the Church,

On Sunday I spoke 5 times; in the Sunday School, during the worship service,
at the Victory dinner - where were questions and answers, at the 6 O'clock fe
llowship there were more questions and answers and during the evening service
with slides and talk.

At the final service the Chairman of the Missionary Committee presented me

of Alice Lewczuk - the youth and children worker. Alice had a premature babyboy and for several days the doctors were fighting for his life, but because

of prayers of many the latest news is that mother and baby are doing fine.
Bro, Allan W. Lee, General Secretary of the World Convention of Churches

of

Christ, visited Poland in December and was very much impressed with the Chur
ches and work in Poland. He returned back very happy and full of enthusiasm.
The work in Baltimore progresses nicely. Lately myself, Dela and Adam Koren czuk made many calls on people in Baltimore.

Bro. Wlnnik is in good health and is very busy preparing radio programs
sending out thousands of copies of literature. Bibles and Song books.
We thank all wonderful American Christians who help us financially

and

to carry

our ministry and who pray for us constantly.

Yours in His service, Bro, Paul.

FROM

THE

E L D S

"Beloved Bro, Bajko! Please accept from myself and my wife warm greetings and
wishes for the New Year. I would like to inform you that Jan 17, we received

an unexpected parcel from the Polish Trading Corp. which you sent for us. It
was a very rich package, everything is so good. I do not know how to thank you

for this. We live and serve the Lord faithfully. Please accept our wannest
thanks and may the Lord bless you richly. Yours, M.M."

FROM PREACHER.

"Dear Bro. & Sister Bajko! Peace be unto you! I would like to infoirm you that
we received your Christmas card as well as the support toward our ministry.

Thank you very, very much. It is hard for us to express our appreciation
everything what you do for us here in Poland to help us preach the Gospel

for
and

win souls for Christ. From our side we can do only one thing - to thank

God

for you and to use all our energy and abilities in winning souls and building
His Kingdom. We thank you not only for material support but for your prayers,
guidance, advice, radio ministry, buildings, publications, etc.

It is hard for

you to realize what blessings are your songbooks and other literature. We thank

God that He gave you such great capability to do such great work. For everything
what we receive from you please accept our sincere thanks and may the Lord blesi
you and reward you richly. Yours, K.Z."

FR(1 GRATEFUL

READER.

"Beloved Bro. & Sister Bajko! We greet you in the name of the Lord in this

New

Year and we wish you many God's blessings in your ministry. It's a long

time

since I wrote to you. Today for the first time I saw your Polish magazine

"The

Guidepost^'^^and I must tell you that I like it very muchT fiy^'c^aTSren x^lHTateto learn poems. Articles are wonderful, deep in meaning and touching
the hearts. In your articles you are realistic - presenting things as they are
and then pointing to Christ as the only solution. Praise God for such ministry
as you do.

In connection with this I would like to ask you to send me at least

one copy of your magazine. Also, please forgive me, but I have another petittonj
please send me several copies of Life of Clwist, vis. and your beautiful songbooks. The songs are touching our hearts and the hearts of many. God knows that

we need such material so He inspired you to write, to translate and to publish.

I know that you are very busy but your labor is not in vain. Many souls are ma
de happy because of your ministry. Please accept our best wishes and may
the
Lord bless you and guide you in your great work. Yours, M,"

FRCM RADIO LISTENER.

"We are regular listeners to your radio program. We are a very poor family

but

our treasure is our radio,it is 18 years old and through this radio we listen ^
to your program. We have seven children who with us sit around the radio and
-

listen carefully. We would like to have a Bible in our home but we do not know

where to get one from. We asked the priest where we could get a Bible and
said that he hadn't got one either. We [should be very grateful if you send

he
us

one.

FROM AMERICAN CHRISTIAN

"Thank you so much for coming to our little church and sharing your life expe
riences.

We in America are blessed beyond measure and I am afraid we take

it

for granted and don't appreciate it. You have experienced great sorrow and in
convenience yet you are so peaceful, so inwardly happy - a good example for
God's children to follow. I pray that God above will give you and your family
many more years to lead others to Jesus. Without Him we are lost forever and
time is running out. God bless you and your family. Sincerely, E.N."

FRO!

THE

STUDENT

"Dear Mr. Bajko: I wish to thank the Department of Missions and all those in
volved for the scholarship of $300.00 that was given to me. I feel it is great
that the Department of Missions uses the resources that they have to help stu

ways be able to hold high the cause of Christ here in the East and never fail
to faithfully preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christian Love
and Thanks, F.L.H."

FROM THE FAITH PROMISE RALLY.

"Dear Brother and Sister in Christ: We are pleased to advise that as result of

our Faith Promise Rally held at First Christian during October the
Missions
Committee has selected and desire to forward modest support toward helping you
and Adela in promoting Polish and Slavic work... It is desired that receipts,
correspondence and periodic or monthly bulletins concerning activities of your
work be forwarded to me for dissemination to members of our church and display
on bulletin board. Again thanks to you for helping promote Faith Promise and
we give thanks to God for the blessings on commitment day. Since we are

We received already several letters from Poland indicating how blessed

We have listened to your program over the last few months. This program speaks
to our hearts. After the message we have discussion at home about this program.
The teaching is different from our Rom. Cath. Church. We agree with you that
we must have more than religion but it is not easy for us just to leave our old
traditions in which we have grown up. Few weeks ago the priest visited our home
and we discussed a number of things with him. He said that he listens to
your

from time to time and he mentioned that we all must come to the faith

of the New Testament and have revival in our hearts. Of course he did not

But, ^ftl^30th was a day that

13 times and met with people every opportunity we had. ~

We were met at the airport by Kostek Jakoniuk who also served as our inter

We

are so many

bicycles, horses and wa-

on all the roads.

Our greatest joy was meeting all the Christians. We knew only a very few
words in the Polish language but were determined to use them and the people
were very kind in helping us also. We found them to be extremely dedicated
and very appreciative for the opportunity to serve the Lord. It really
meant a lot to us just to be able to witness their joy in the Lord.
Every
service included at least two sermons and even as many as seven.

Services

lasted from two to four hours. The singing is done in full voice and very
melodious -- we sang along as best we could and at otherTimes we"just lis
tened to that

beautiful sound.

The chapels

are small and the music fills

the room.

They pray with

such fervency as they thank God for the blessings

they have and also pray for the continued freedom that can be theirs in that

country. The Communion service becomes extremely precious to them and dur
ing the service they either sing or pray and none of it is rushed.

We had the privilege of

staying in homes and they made us feel totally wel

place we went.

Although their

living areas are small, we never

felt like we were intruding. It was obvious they had anticipated our arriv
al and made special efforts for us. The food was delicious and prepared
with beauty. Although they don't have the fancy varieties that we have, it
was a joy to share in this simplicity because everything was done with so
much love. Some of our favorite foods were the delicious breads, cheese,
soups, cakes

and kielbasa.

We were told

our meal schedule would include a

breakfast, lunch about four o'clock and then supper following the evening
service around nine or ten o'clock. But, some days we had as many as seven
meals. Every time you stop to visit someone, they prepare a meal for you.
The fellowship of eating with these Christians was a great experience.
Our travels took us to Ostruda where we saw the camp property and visited
the Old Folks' Home; to Olsztyn where we shared- the 30th Anniversary of
that congregation; and to Katowice where we had the good news that the gov

Christ,

Warsaw, June 15,75.

GREETINGS FRCM POLAND! One year is passing from the time when the Lord gave me
the privilege together with few other brethren from Poland to visit your country
and vist your churches.

How wonderful and precious were the moments of fellowship with you.
It was an
encouragement to me in my work for the Lord to see the growth and the blessings
of your work and also the love and concern you have for your Christian
friends

and for the work of the Lord in Poland.

I may say in behalf of all of our Christian workers in Poland that we do appre
ciate very much your love, concern and help you show to us through Brother Bajko.
We thank God for Brother and Sister Bajko and their hard work for the glory of
God. The songbooks printed by them are greatly enjoyed by the young people, not
only in our churches but other denominations and even Roman Catholics are

ging those songs.

Their monthly magazine

interest by hundreds.

GUIDEPOST

LIFE OF CHRIST VISUALIZED

but

we are already out of it. The parcels of used clothing are a great help to many
Christians and they all pray for you and are greatful to all of you for your love
and concern.

With your help we were able to build and repair many church buildings, to distri
bute many Bibles, songbooks and other Christian literature.
Our ministers are able to use more and more effectively their time for the Lord.

^ We

still have many needs, the largest of all is the Ostroda Project, the
youth
camp facilities and also the Old Folks' Hbme in which we will have to have some
part, but we trust that the Lord who was so gracious to us up until now and you

who have shown your love to us through the years will make possible for us to do
in the future that which will be for the glory of God.

I would once more like to express our appreciation for warm welcome and the love
you have shown to us by opening your churches, your homes and your hearts while
we were there.

May God richly bless and reward you out of His unending riches from above.

Yours in Christ,' Kostek Jakoniuk

25 years ago in Nqveniber I landed in this great country of

America.

From that day on I never ceased to thank God for this land which opened the
door for me.

In this country I found first of all wonderful, loving Christians who with
opened arms welcomed me into the great fellowship of God's people.
In this country I also found friendly and understanding Americans who wel come all foreigners with smile and share their blessings of freedom and pro

In this country I found an opportunity to study and to work and to

This country gave me the privilege to become the citizen of United States
of America.

But most of all I found here the greatest field of service as the missiona

ry to my people living in U.S.A. and in Poland and other countries.

We continue in this service here and abroad preaching the Gospel in person
and through radio, through publications, Christian music, letters, sending
relief, medicine, building houses of worship, starting new churches
and
strengthening established churches, sending Bibles and New Testaments.
Our hearts are filled with joy and thanks to God when we see people
ting Christ, when there is spirittial growth, missionary activities,

Each time we receive a letter from a preacher or just a Christian

brother^

from a radio listener or reader of our publication, our hearts are

filled
with gratitude and adoration of Him who gave His life that whosoever belie-

veth in Him shoul not perish, but have everlasting life.

Also when I look back at my first steps in this country? studies at
Eastern
Christian Institute and Milligan College, 20 years of work with Eastern Chris
tian College, establishing the Departmetit of Missions, and how God blessed me
with a wonderful wife and 3 children, when I think about Churches across this
land which opened the door for me and your love and concern for the Polish
people, I say: "Thank you, Lord, for the Church, for great American Christians
and the great Christian nation - America",

May the Lord bless you richly as you continue to serve Him.

our work, and pray for America I
