World's Last Chance has challenged the world to prove its

recently-adopted Lunar Sabbath theory incorrect from the Bible

alone,and backs its challenge with a $1 million commitment.
Although this false doctrine has been conclusively disproved from
Scripture, WLC is blind to the evidence. There are other eye-
witnesses who testify against them, and some of them are quoted
here.

WORLD'S LAST CHANCE challenges all to prove their recently-

adopted LUNAR SABBATH false, from the Scriptures alone.

So convinced are they of their new doctrine of demons, that they

are offering $1,000,000 USD to anyone who can Biblically prove
that the Lunar Sabbath is false.

This has been done, yet the WLC team is still blind to the bankruptcy of their
Lunar Calendar theory, and refuses to consider the clear Scriptural evidence
against them.

Their argument is that those who disagree with their minuscule minority
point of view, are “following the word of man rather than the BIBLE
ALONE.”

That this in fact is what WLC itself is doing, is obvious to most.

However, since they cannot be persuaded by the BIBLE ALONE that they are
in error, I shall enlist the testimony of many witnesses who were actually
alive and present before the time at which, WLC claims, the observation of the
Jewish Sabbath was “changed from the Creator's true Luni-Solar
Calendar to the pagan 7-day week on the DAY of SATURN.”

There is absolutely no evidence for WLC's claim, whereas there is a veritable

treasure trove overflowing with evidence to the contrary. The evidence to
follow proves that -

1. The Israelites were given the Sabbath along with all other
commandments, by Moses in the wilderness
2. The Sabbath was the unique sign of the Old Covenant between
Yahweh and the children of Israel
3. Nobody observed the Sabbath before this time
4. This Sabbath was then and has always been, observed EVERY
7th day in a week unrelated to the lunar month
5. The Jewish Sabbath was never changed from or to any other
format from that time to this
6. The Law was UNTIL the MESSIAH, because of sin
 7. When Jesus rose from the dead, He conquered sin, and His
righteousness is imputed to believers
8. Therefore, Christians have always observed the first day of
the week as a day of rejoicing and celebration of the
Resurrection, and a symbol of the eternal Sabbath rest to
come in the Millennium.

The very best witnesses to the Sabbath practice of the Jews before, during and
after the time when the Lord Jesus Christ walked the land of Judaea, are the
Apostolic and Early Church Fathers, who were disciples of and co-workers
with the Apostles or the next generation after them; and the meticulous
historians of that time, who had access to original records which were lost in
the Destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD, and/or also had
personal experience of Jewish and Roman life at that time.

WLC claims to have “proof” that the Jews originally observed a Lunar
Sabbath which fell only on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th of every lunar month.

The genuine evidence of historians, apologists, evangelists and martyrs,

absolutely proves WLC wrong.

These witnesses have left us a legacy of huge amounts of historical and

spiritual literature which expounds, expands and confirms everything we
have in the Greek Scriptures. They were tireless in documenting evidence,
and in refuting doctrinal error of every sort. Much heresy had already
infiltrated the Church at such an early date, as Paul warned, even from those
who were once orthodox believers.

Act 20:29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among
you, not sparing the flock;
Act 20:30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted
things, to draw away the disciples after them.
Act 20:31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease
night or day to admonish everyone with tears.

Many of the Early Church Fathers were martyred for their true witness to the
Lord Jesus Christ, and so sealed their testimony to the faith once delivered to
the saints with their own blood.

We can see from the many long and detailed discussions that JUSTIN
MARTYR had with the legalistic Jew TRYPHO, that there is not one argument
used by today's Judaisers, which has not already been fully dealt with and
repudiated by these men of God, almost 2,000 years ago.

Today's legalistic Christians are only following in the footsteps of early

heretics who were resoundingly refuted in the first and second centuries.
They still refuse to understand the clear, simple readings of the Scripture
which pronounce that CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW FOR
RIGHTEOUSNESS, and many other such things; but they are only re-hashing
an argument which has long since been won.

The selection which follows is but a small portion of the evidence available,
which unanimously tells the same story – the Jewish Sabbath is, was and
always has been, observed EVERY 7th DAY of a regular, continuous 7-DAY
WEEK CYCLE.

Besides the Apostolic Fathers, there are also Historians who give eye-witness
accounts of the practices of the Jews at the time of Christ. One of these is
JOSEPHUS, a Pharisee and a priest, and some say, also the Bishop of the
Christian church in Jerusalem. Another is the Roman Cassius DIO.

All of these trustworthy witnesses give a unanimous testimony of the Jews

ALWAYS observing the Sabbath EVERY 7th day, which was known to the
Romans as THE DAY of SATURN.

They also confirm that the earliest Christians had abandoned the Jewish
Sabbath day in favour of the LORD's DAY, SUNDAY – which however, they
did not rename or keep as a binding observance of the 4th Commandment, but
as a day of worship and rejoicing in honour of Jesus' Resurrection on the 8th
Day (Sunday).

CASSIUS DIO ROMAN HISTORIAN

Cassius Dio attributes the naming of the DAYS after the seven planets, to the
EGYPTIANS -

The custom of referring the days to the seven stars called planets
was established by the Egyptians, but has spread to all men, though it
was instituted comparatively not long ago.

Cassius Dio describes the peculiar practice of the Jews on their Sabbath -

They are distinguished from the rest of mankind in every detail of life, so to
speak, and especially by the fact that they do not honor any of the usual gods,
but reverence mightily one particular divinity.

They never had any statue in Jerusalem itself, but believing him to be
inexpressible, invisible, they worship him in the most extravagant fashion on
earth. They built to him a temple that was extremely large and beautiful,
except in so far as it was void and roofless, and dedicated the day called
THE DAY OF SATURN, on which, among many other most peculiar
actions, they undertake no serious occupation.

63 BC : Cassius Dio the Roman Historian tells us how Pompey was only
able to capture the Temple in Jerusalem on the Jewish Sabbath, because the
Jews refused to fight on this day. He calls the Sabbath the DAY of
SATURN -

Most of the city he took without exertion ... and if {the Jews} had
continued defending {the Temple} on all days alike, he could not
have got possession of it.

As it was, they made an exception of what were called THE DAYS

OF SATURN, and by doing no work at all on them offered the
Romans an opportunity in this vacant interval to batter down the
wall. The latter on learning this superstition of theirs, made no serious
attempt the rest of the time, but on those days, when they came around
in succession, assaulted most vigorously.

Thus the holders were captured on THE DAY OF SATURN, making

no defence, and all the money was plundered.

38 BC : Cassius Dio says that when Herod became governor of Judaea, the
Jews' Sabbath was known to the Romans as the DAY of SATURN -

The first of them were captured fighting for the precinct of their god,
and later the rest on the day even then called THE DAY OF SATURN.
And so great still were their religious scruples that the men who had been first
captured along with the temple obtained leave from Sosius when THE
DAY OF SATURN came around again, and went up with the
remaining population into the building, where they performed all
the customary rites.

70 AD : Cassius tells how the Temple was again captured on the Jewish
Sabbath, which is the Romans' DAY of SATURN -

Thus was Jerusalem destroyed on THE VERY DAY OF SATURN,

which even now the Jews reverence most.

JOSEPHUS JEWISH HISTORIAN; Pharisee; Priest

Josephus explains how the Sabbath was always observed, from sunset of the
6th day until sunset of the 7th day, for 24 hours.

He also confirms that EVENING is at SUNSET –

Wars of the Jews, Book 4, Chapter 9, Section 12

... above the top of the Pastophoria, where one of the priests stood of course,
and gave a signal beforehand, with a trumpet at the beginning of every
SEVENTH DAY, IN THE EVENING TWILIGHT, as ALSO AT THE
EVENING WHEN THAT DAY WAS FINISHED, as giving notice to
the people when they were to leave off work, and when they were
to go to work again.

Josephus confirms that the weekly Sabbath is kept EVERY 7th day, just as the
Land Sabbath is kept EVERY 7th year -

Wars of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 2, Section 4

And as the siege was delayed by this means, the year of rest came on, upon
which the Jews rest every seventh year as they do on every SEVENTH
DAY.

Josephus tells us that the Passover lambs were sacrificed between the 9th and
11th hours (which would be 3 pm – 5 pm on 14 Nisan) –

So these high priests, upon the coming of that feast which is called the
Passover, when they slay their sacrifices, from the ninth hour till
the eleventh ...

Josephus confirms Cassius Dio's account of the Jews' defeat due to not
fighting on the Sabbath -

63 BC : WARS of the JEWS, Book 1 Chapter 7 Sections 3, 5.

3. ... nor would the Romans have succeeded in their endeavors, had not
Pompey taken notice of the seventh days, on which the Jews
abstain from all sorts of work on a religious account, and raised his
bank, but restrained his soldiers from fighting on those days; for the Jews
only acted defensively on SABBATH days.

5. And now did many of the priests, even when they saw their enemies
assailing them with swords in their hands, without any disturbance, go on
with their Divine worship, and were slain while they were offering
their drink-offerings, and burning their incense, as preferring the
duties about their worship to God before their own preservation.

JOSEPHUS records Agrippa's plea to the Jews before the 70 AD destruction

of the Temple, in which he reminded them that they were previously captured
because of refusing to fight on the Sabbath -

WARS of the Jews Book 2 Chapter 16 Section 4.

.”.. and if you do observe the custom of the SABBATH days, and
will not be revealed on to do any thing thereon, you will easily be
taken, as were your forefathers by Pompey, who was the busiest in his siege
on those days on which the besieged rested. “

Josephus explains about the Appointed Feasts of the Lord. He states clearly,
that the Feast of Tabernacles lasts for EIGHT DAYS, not seven days as
WLC claims –

CHAPTER 10 CONCERNING THE FESTIVALS;

AND HOW EACH DAY OF SUCH FESTIVAL
IS TO BE OBSERVED.

4. Upon the 15th day of the same month, when the season of the
year is changing for winter, the law enjoins us to pitch tabernacles in
every one of our houses ... and keep a festival for eight days ...

Josephus explains how the Jews knew when to hold the Feast of Passover. He
does not mention the vernal equinox, nor even the ripeness of the barley
(except to state that the Barley Sheaf must be waved, which is proof that it
needed to be sufficiently ripe at the time of Passover) – it was always WHEN
the SUN was in the CONSTELLATION of ARIES –
5. In the month of Xanthicus, which is by us called Nisan, and is the
beginning of our year,

on the 14th day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries,

(for in this month it was that we were delivered from bondage

under the Egyptians,) the law ordained that we should every year slay that
sacrifice which I before told you we slew when we came out of Egypt, and
which was called the Passover ...

The feast of unleavened bread succeeds that of the passover, and

falls on the 15th day of the month, and continues 7 days.

Josephus next describes the Sheaf of BARLEY FIRSTFRUITS, which the Bible
says is to be presented on the day after the Sabbath during the week of
Unleavened Bread. Today, the Jews still follow the Pharisaic method of
finding the date for this Feast – they observe it on the day after the 15th of
Nisan, counting the 15th as the ceremonial “Sabbath” of Unleavened Bread –
thus it is always on the 16th of Nisan. Josephus, being a Pharisee, used this
method.

However, Yahweh gives no date for the Wave Sheaf; nor does He state that it
should be on the 2nd day of the 7-day Feast of Unleavened Bread.

The Karaites say that the Pharisaic method is incorrect; the Sheaf of
Firstfruits must be presented on the 1st day of the week, the day after the
weekly Sabbath which falls during Unleavened Bread, so that 7 weeks + 1 day
will arrive at the 1st day of the week, for the Feast of Pentecost.

If the Lord had wanted the date of the Wave Sheaf always to follow the 15th of
Nisan, then He would have stated that this was to be observed on the 16th of
Nisan, every year. He also would have stated that the Feast of Weeks was to
fall on the 6th of the 3rd month, Sivan, every year, as the Jews currently keep it.

However, because these 2 Appointed Days are NEVER DATED in Scripture,

this is good evidence that they FLOATED in the calendar, to follow the
FLOATING WEEKLY SABBATH, and could therefore not be specified as
falling on any particular date of he month. Every other Appointed Feast Day is
very specifically dated.

However, they both do fall ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, THE
DAY AFTER THE SABBATH. That the 2 days are related in this
way, and both undated, is further proof that the Sabbath does NOT
fall on the 15th of every month.
5. But on the second day of unleavened bread, which is the 16th day
of the month, they first partake of the fruits of the earth, for before that day
they do not touch them. And while they suppose it proper to honor God, from
whom they obtain this plentiful provision, in the first place, they offer the
first-fruits of their barley ... And after this it is that they may
publicly or privately reap their harvest.

Josephus next describes the Feast of Weeks, which he calls

PENTECOST, and states clearly that it falls “1 week of weeks” after
the sacrifice of Unleavened Bread; he also clearly states that this
“week of weeks” is 49 DAYS, or 50 days from 15 Nisan to the day of
Pentecost.

There is here NO MENTION of “NON-DAYS” or “TRANSITION

DAYS”. There is no date of “9 Sivan” given for the Feast of Weeks /
Pentecost, as there would be for WLC's Pentecost.

Josephus does the arithmetic for us; he specifically and

unambiguously states that PENTECOST falls exactly 7 WEEKS of 7
DAYS = 49 DAYS + 1 DAY = 50 DAYS, from Nisan 15.

6. When a week of weeks has passed over after this sacrifice,

(which weeks contain 49 days,)

on the 50th day, which is Pentecost, but is called by the Hebrews

Asartha, which signifies Pentecost, they bring to God a loaf, made of
wheat flour ...

nor is there any one of the festivals but in it they offer burnt-offerings;
they also allow themselves to rest on every one of them.

IGNATIUS ~ 30 – 107 AD.

Ignatius was a disciple of JOHN the Apostle. He was martyred by being

thrown to wild beasts at Rome.

Here, Ignatius admonishes the Christians NOT to keep the Jewish Sabbath by
resting from work on it, but to keep the Lord's Day spiritually in honour of
Christ who rose on this day.
IGNATIUS Epistle to the Magnesians
Chapter 9:
Let us therefore no longer keep the Sabbath after the Jewish manner,
and rejoice in days of idleness; for “he that does not work, let him not eat.”
(2Th_3:10) For say the [holy] oracles, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat
thy bread.” (Gen_3:19)
But let every one of you keep the Sabbath after a spiritual manner,
rejoicing in meditation on the law, not in relaxation of the body,
admiring the workmanship of God,
and not eating things prepared the day before, nor using lukewarm
drinks, and walking within a prescribed space, nor finding delight
in dancing and plaudits which have no sense in them.24
And after the observance of the Sabbath,
let every friend of Christ keep the Lord’s Day as a festival, the
resurrection-day, the queen and chief of all the days [of the week].
Looking forward to this, the prophet declared, “To the end, for the
eighth day,” (Psa_6:1-10, Psa_12:1-8 [inscrip.]) on which our life both
sprang up again, and the victory over death was obtained in Christ.

The Shortened Version, Chapter 9: no longer observing the Sabbath,

but living in the observance22 of the Lord’s Day, on which also our life
has sprung up again by Him and by His death.

Below, he tells us that Jesus died on the 6th day before sunset; descended into
Hades, where the saints there SAW HIM; He spent all of the Sabbath in the
tomb; and was raised at dawn on Sunday, which he says, fulfills the prophecy
of Jonah being inside the whale for 3 days and 3 nights –

IGNATIUS Epistle to the Trallians

Chapter 9.
He did in reality both eat and drink. He was crucified and died under
Pontius Pilate. He really, and not merely in appearance, was crucified, and
died, in the sight of beings in heaven, and on earth, and under the
earth.
By those in heaven I mean such as are possessed of incorporeal natures;
by those on earth, the Jews and Romans, and such persons as were present
at that time when the Lord was crucified;
and by those under the earth, the multitude that arose along
with the Lord. For says the Scripture, “Many bodies of the saints
that slept arose,” (Mat_27:52) their graves being opened.
He descended, indeed, into Hades alone, but He arose
accompanied by a multitude; and rent asunder that means of
separation which had existed from the beginning of the world, and
cast down its partition-wall.

On the day of the preparation, then, at the third hour, He received the
sentence from Pilate, the Father permitting that to happen;

at the sixth hour He was crucified;

at the ninth hour He gave up the ghost;

and before sunset He was buried.

During the Sabbath He continued under the earth in the tomb in

which Joseph of Arimathaea had laid Him.

At the dawning of the Lord’s day He arose from the dead, according to
what was spoken by Himself,

“As Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the
Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
(Mat_12:40)

The day of the preparation, then, comprises the passion;

the Sabbath embraces the burial;

the Lord’s Day contains the resurrection.

MATHETES ~ 130 AD – He called himself “A disciple of the Apostles.”

Mathetes Epistle to Diognetus Chapter 4.

The Other Observances of the Jews.

But as to their scrupulosity concerning meats, and their

superstition as respects the Sabbaths, and their boasting about
circumcision, and their fancies about fasting and the new moons, which
are utterly ridiculous and unworthy of notice, — I do not12 think that
you require to learn anything from me.
For, to accept some of those things which have been formed by God for the
use of men as properly formed, and to reject others as useless and
redundant, — how can this be lawful?
And to speak falsely of God, as if He forbade us to do what is good
on the Sabbath-days, — how is not this impious? And to glory in the
circumcision13 of the flesh as a proof of election, and as if, on account of it,
they were specially beloved by God, — how is it not a subject of ridicule? And
as to their observing months and days, (Comp. Gal_4:10) as if
waiting upon14 the stars and the moon, and their distributing,15
according to their own tendencies, the appointments of God, and the
vicissitudes of the seasons, some for festivities,16 and others for mourning, —
who would deem this a part of divine worship, and not much
rather a manifestation of folly?
I suppose, then, you are sufficiently convinced that the Christians
properly abstain from the vanity and error common [to both Jews
and Gentiles] ...

BARNABAS 100 AD A Jewish Christian – some think he is the

Barnabas who travelled and worked with Paul. He renounces the Jewish
Sabbath as having been abrogated by God, who now gives us the 1st day of the
week (the “8th day”) as a memorial of Jesus' Resurrection, and as a foretaste of
the eternal rest to come during the Millennium.

BARNABAS
Epistle Part 2 Chapter 15 The True and False Sabbath.

Further, He says to them, “Your new moons and your Sabbath I

cannot endure.” (Isa_1:13)

Ye perceive how He speaks: Your present Sabbaths are not

acceptable to Me, but that is which I have made, [namely this,]
when, giving rest to all things, I shall make a beginning of the
eighth day, that is, a beginning of another world.

Wherefore, also, we keep the eighth day with joyfulness, the day
also on which Jesus rose again from the dead. And when He had
manifested Himself, He ascended into the heavens.

JUSTIN MARTYR Gentile Christian, possibly Roman, Evangelist,

Teacher, Apologist. 110 – 165 AD.

Justin wrote a large treatise called “Dialogue with Trypho”, a Jew who
protested that the Christians are bound to abide by all the Mosaic Laws,
including especially the Sabbath. Justin refutes this claim with many Biblical
arguments.

He was beheaded for his unwavering testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Justin tells the Jews that the reason Christians do not keep the Sabbath, is
that they know God only gave these commandments to the Jews
because of their hard hearts –

JUSTIN MARTYR Dialogue with Trypho

Chapter 18.
“For we too would observe the fleshly circumcision, and the
Sabbaths, and in short all the feasts, if we did not know for what
reason they were enjoined you, — namely, on account of your
transgressions and the hardness of your hearts.
“For if we patiently endure all things contrived against us by wicked men
and demons ...
“how is it, Trypho, that we would not observe those rites which do
not harm us, — I speak of fleshly circumcision, and Sabbaths, and
feasts?”

Chapter 23.
“For if there was no need of circumcision before Abraham, or of
the observance of Sabbaths, of feasts and sacrifices, before Moses;
no more need is there of them now, after that, according to the will
of God, Jesus Christ the Son of God has been born without sin, of a
virgin sprung from the stock of Abraham.”

Chapter 26.
“But the Gentiles, who have believed on Him, and have repented
of the sins which they have committed, they shall receive the inheritance
along with the patriarchs and the prophets, and the just men who are
descended from Jacob, even although they neither keep the Sabbath,
nor are circumcised, nor observe the feasts. Assuredly they shall receive
the holy inheritance of God.”

Chapter 27.
“Or why did He not teach those — who are called righteous and
pleasing to Him, who lived before Moses and Abraham, who were
not circumcised in their foreskin, and observed no Sabbaths — to
keep these institutions?”
Here as in other places, Justin stresses that before Moses gave the 10
Commandments, NOBODY KEPT THE SABBATH, yet they were
saved –

For if one should wish to ask you why, since Enoch, Noah with his sons, and
all others in similar circumstances, who neither were circumcised nor
kept the Sabbath, pleased God,

God demanded by other leaders, and by the giving of the law after the lapse of so
many generations, that those who lived between the times of Abraham and of Moses
be justified by circumcision,

and that those who lived after Moses be justified by circumcision and the
other ordinances — to wit, the Sabbath, and sacrifices, and libations,
and offerings ...

Justin describes the regular, 7-day weekly worship of the

Christians, which was on SUNDAY –

JUSTIN MARTYR First Apology

Chapter 67. — Weekly Worship of the Christians.

And on the day called Sunday, {τητουΗλι ου λεγομενη ημερα.} all who live
in cities or in the country gather together to one place, and the memoirs of the
apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits;
then, when the reader has ceased, the president verbally instructs, and
exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and
pray, and, as we before said, when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and
water are brought, and the president in like manner offers prayers and
thanksgivings, according to his ability, and the people assent, saying Amen ...

But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common

assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought
a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus
Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead.

For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn

(Saturday);
and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun,
having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these
things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.

Theophilus of Antioch (AD 115 – 181) stated that the nations all learned
the word “Sabbath” denoting the “seventh day,” from the Jews:

Theophilus To Autolycus Book 2

Chapter 12. — The Glory of the Six Days’ Work.

Moreover, [they spoke] concerning the seventh day, which all men
acknowledge; but the most know not that what among the Hebrews is
called the “Sabbath,” is translated into Greek the “Seventh” (εβδομα ς), a
name which is adopted by every nation, although they know not the
reason of the appellation.

IRENAEUS 120 – 202 AD. He died a martyr's death in the massacre of

Emperor Severus.

Irenaeus was a pupil of POLYCARP, who was a disciple of JOHN the Apostle.

Irenaeus' major occupation was to classify and correct the many doctrines of
demons which had burst upon the early church. He wrote a massive work,
Against Heresies, countering every possible perversion of true doctrine.

Here, Irenaeus assures us that there is a regular 7-day weekly cycle, from
Creation onwards. He also confirms that Jesus died on the 6th day of the week.

IRENAEUS Book 5 Chapter 23 Section 2.

But according to the cycle and progress of the days, after which
one is termed first, another second, and another third, if anybody
seeks diligently to learn upon what day out of the seven it was that
Adam died, he will find it by examining the dispensation of the Lord ...

The Lord, therefore, recapitulating in Himself this day, underwent His

sufferings upon the day preceding the Sabbath, that is, the sixth day
of the creation, on which day man was created; thus granting him a second
creation by means of His passion, which is that [creation] out of death.

Irenaeus tells us that the Jews are condemned by God because they continue
to observe the Law of Moses, instead of accepting the Law of Liberty of the
New Covenant in Christ –

Irenaeus Book 4 Chapter 33 Section 1.

And he also judges the Jews, who do not accept of the word of
liberty, nor are willing to go forth free, although they have a
Deliverer present [with them]; but they pretend, at a time
unsuitable [for such conduct], to serve, [with observances] beyond
[those required by] the law, God who stands in need of nothing,
and do not recognise the advent of Christ, which He accomplished
for the salvation of men ...

Irenaeus tells us that the Law of Moses was until the Lord, but that since then,
the life-giving Law of Liberty has been in effect –

Irenaeus Book 4 Chapter 34 Section 4.

4. If any one, however, advocating the cause of the Jews, do maintain
that this new covenant consisted in the rearing of that temple which was
built under Zerubbabel after the emigration to Babylon, and in the departure
of the people from thence after the lapse of seventy years, let him know that
the temple constructed of stones was indeed then rebuilt (for as yet that
law was observed which had been made upon tables of stone), yet
no new covenant was given, but they used the Mosaic law until the
coming of the Lord;
but from the Lord’s advent, the new covenant which brings back
peace, and the law which gives life, has gone forth over the whole
earth, as the prophets said: “For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the
word of the Lord from Jerusalem; and He shall rebuke many people; and they
shall break down their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into
pruning-hooks, and they shall no longer learn to fight.” (Isa_2:3, Isa_2:4;
Mic_4:2, Mic_4:3)

This very lengthy selection is just a small part of the unanimous evidence
against the Lunar Sabbath, which comes down to us from the
highest authorities since the Apostles.

These authorities tell us that before, during and after the time of Jesus -

The Jewish Sabbath is kept EVERY 7th day on a regular weekly cycle
The EGYPTANS named the days of the week after the planets
The JEWS were the first to keep the 7-day weekly cycle
The ROMANS called the Jewish Sabbath, SATURN's DAY
NOBODY observed the Sabbath until after Moses gave this commandment
The 7th-day Jewish Sabbath was TEMPORARY until Jesus Christ came
The TRUE Sabbath is spiritual and ETERNAL
Jesus died at 3 pm on Friday
Jesus was buried before sunset on Friday, the Preparation Day
Jesus spent Saturday, the Sabbath, in the tomb
Jesus descended into Hades, the abode of the souls of the dead, after His
death, from where He raised a multitude of saints with Him
Jesus rose at dawn on Sunday, which fulfilled the “3 days and 3 nights in the
heart of the earth”
The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) is exactly 7 x 7-day weeks + 1 day = 50 days,
from the Sabbath during Unleavened Bread

Every word written by all these witnesses of the practices of the Jews and the
Christians, before, during and after the time of Christ, long before
Constantine was born, tell exactly the same story as we find on a simple
reading of the Scriptures. We have no higher authorities than these men, who
were prepared to give their lives for these truths.

I wonder how many of the Lunar Sabbath advocates would joyfully submit to
being burned at the stake, massacred, beheaded, or eaten alive by lions, to
prove their point?

Even Ellen White, when her workers were threatened with mere arrest or
fines for working on Sundays, changed her mind about the coming “Sunday
worship law,” and ORDERED THEM TO OBSERVE SUNDAYS EXACTLY AS
THE SUNDAY-WORSHIPPERS DO, WHICH SHE SAID, IS ALWAYS
ACCEPTABLE TO THE LORD.
