COURSE DESCRIPTION
PRCACM2 is the second practicum course of ACM students, which is usually taken during the
third trimester of their third year in college. Students work full-time as interns in any of the
major functional areas of a company for 12 consecutive weeks, during which they receive
mentorship from their company supervisor- mentors (supermentors) and guidance from their
faculty advisers. At the end of the course, they present their learnings in a culminating activity
that is attended by both the supermentor and the adviser.
During the internship, ACM students are expected to develop skills and competencies in six
major areas: 1) thinking creatively and critically; 2) communicating effectively for team and
organizational improvement; 3) Learning to challenge and improve oneself as a reflective and
spiritual lifelong learner; 4) maintaining service excellence standards in an ethical and socially
responsible manner; 5) achieving technical proficiency; and 6) working effectively in teams.
This course is in line with the goal of the Management and Organization Department to develop
competent, humanistic, nationalistic, and socially responsible business leaders, professionals and
entrepreneurs that serve as change agents in society, consistent with Catholic Social Teachings
and the Lasallian Guiding Principles. Also, this course responds to the goal of the United
Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (UN-PRME) to develop the
capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at
large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy.
