Class Policies:

Attendance & Class Participation: Regular attendance and

punctuality are required of all students. Students should be aware
that there absence from lectures may jeopardize the successful
completion of the course. Absences need to be supported by medical
certificates or letter from parents/guardians.
Allocation of 10% marks for attendance and participation are
specially to emphasize the importance of participation in class which
requires you to pre-read the topic, ask questions, answer or comment
on other students questions or remarks, elaborate, support or critique
your classmates comment.
Academic integrity: The program is committed to academic integrity
which refers to plagiarism and cheating during exams among other
things. Plagiarism is copying others language, ideas and
information, etc, without acknowledging the source. Students work
may be checked for plagiarism by text comparison software.
All sociology assignments are to be referenced using APA
referencing system.
