This is it!

Sunday is our Tailgate and High Attendance

Day. Come to be counted in your Sunday School Class, bring
friends and visitors, stay for lunch and enjoy a great time of
fellowship. Someone has asked, Why do we do this and why the
emphasis on ball? First we do this because we want each class to
realize the potential they have to reach this community if they work
together; and the potential that the church has as we all work
together. The ball emphasis is just for fun and reflects the time of
the year. There are many analogies that can be drawn between
football and life, especially the life of the Church. Team spirit for
Church unity, cheers and pep rallies reflecting our joy for the Lord,
practice, preparation and execution of the team is the same needed
in the church, and so on.
Join us this Sunday for this very special day. AND, do wear
your team colors if you have them.
REMEMBER WE WILL HAVE ONLY THE 11AM
SERVICE THIS SUNDAY.

MUSICAL PREMIER
Last Sunday we premiered this years Christmas music I
HEAR THE PROPHET CALLIN. All Adult singers are
invited to be a part of this musical which shares the prophecy
and fulfillment of Gods promise of a Saviorthrough Jesus!
The music is based on American Appalachian tunes and styles
and will be led by a live instrumental group! Free books and
rehearsal CDs are available. I am looking for a few good instrumentalists to accompany the musical in December. Please
contact me if you could play or recommend anyone on: flute,
oboe, percussion, horn, autoharp, hammered dulcimer, violin,
viola, cello, or double bass.

GRADED CHOIRS
Parents, please bring your child to choir next Wednesday.
Schools are back in session and we have an exciting year of
music and praise in store for each of our children. Choirs meet
from 5:45 to 6:25 each Wednesday evening.
Threes thru Fives meet in 5 Yr Room in Preschool Hall
First-Fifth Graders meet in Choir Room.

SAINTS ALIVE
We had a great rehearsal Monday. New shirts are ordered and
will arrive soon. Weve begun rehearsing the new music for
our annual Senior Adult Choir Festival. It is called I Hear the
Prophet Callin. Senior Adult Choir Festival dates are: October 26-27. Clear your calendars for this two day trip to Toccoa, GA. We always have a great time in the beautiful mountains of NE Georgia. Bring a friend and come into His presence with singing, and into His courts with praise!
FELLOWSHIP CLUB
Our September meeting of the Fellowship Club will be held on
Monday, September 14. Bring your covered dish and a friend!

Promotion Sunday August 30

We will promote at 10:30 am during Sunday School on August 30.
Attention 1st Grade and 6th Grade parents!! Your child will be
recognized in the joint 11 am service. Move up will be at 10:30 am,
but we ask that you pick up your child right after and seat them in the
sanctuary by 10:45 am so they may be recognized in the service.

High Attendance Sunday August 30

Children should plan to participate in the Tailgate Party with their
parents' Sunday School class this year.

Children's Worship Service

Join us on Sunday, August 30 for our new Children's Worship service!
We'll be dismissing from the join 11 am Worship. The rest of the year,
our service will take place during the 9 am Contemporary Service.
Children will attend the Contemporary service with their parents and
then be dismissed to Children's Worship in the Fellowship Hall during
the offering. From the Children's Worship, they will be dismissed to
Sunday School. We hope to see your child there!

This Sunday is our high attendance day and tailgate

party. I am looking forward to worshipping
together as one body during the 11:00 service. Let's
make this Sunday the best we have had all year.
Invite someone to come with you.
Don't forget we meet each Tuesday together for
breakfast at Betty's beginning at 6:45. We have a
time of prayer and are finished so that you can get to
school on time.
I am looking forward to being back together next
Wednesday night for out "640" service as we begin a
series called Engage. We are going to be looking at
how to reach the culture in which we live. Supper
starts at 6:00. Have a great weekend and see you
Sunday!!

Early and Extended Session

Are you willing to serve in Early or Extended Session this year?
Volunteers work during either the 9 am or 11 am services every 6
weeks with infants through 4 year olds. Please contact me if you are
interested.
Special thanks to those individuals who worked last year, those
coming back this year to help or those who have just signed on! You
will get a new schedule starting with Sunday, October 4th.
