Whats New in this Release
Usability and User Interface Improvements
Enables users to define how they join conferences:

With their camera, speakers, and/or microphone muted.


With their screen shared, and with audio and video muted.
Supports 4K decoding for up to 4 x 1080p streams.
The favorites lists and the search results now group all of a user's owned rooms inside that user's pop-up screen.
Adds support for the Dutch language.
Includes additional features when running VidyoPortal/VidyoRouter version 3.2 or later:

An improved HTML Control Meeting page (also available with VidyoPortal version 3.1).
Ability to display a customer-configured banner upon login.
DSCP tagging for signaling enhancements (in Windows environments only).

Known Issues and Limitations

When using two displays, after connecting to a room with


the Share screen upon connection box checked, if you
do not choose a screen to share or choose the exit share
screen option, you cannot see your conference.
In order for VidyoDesktop to decode 4K, the Max Bandwidth setting on the VidyoPortal Admin portal Groups >
Manage Groups page must be set to at least 15 Mbps.
When in the middle of a conference, VidyoDesktop
crashed.
After exiting a call, a share is still visible and does not disappear until VidyoDesktop is quit.
When moving VidyoDesktop Contacts list to the desktop,
users Room Page does not close.
When installing VidyoDesktop from a Guest Link after
closing the browser, you are unable to connect to the
room referenced in the guest link.
If two users have the same display name, clicking the toggle screen share option only shows one display name.
When using VidyoDesktop on a ThinkPad X1 laptop, high
CPU usage has been observed.
When searching for & in the search field of the Contacts
list, the search list is empty.
After reverting back to VidyoDesktop 3.0.4 from Main
from VidyoDesktop 3.2 without chat, VidyoDesktop
crashes when attempting to join or start a call.
While HardEndPoint is in camera privacy mode during
FECC, the Error message does not appear.
When plugging in Jabra 410 during a call, VidyoDesktop
crashed.
When an LDAP Tenant enters their correct username and
password on the FLEX interface, an Invalid Username or
Password message appears.
When an LDAP user is disabled or deleted from the server, the appropriate error message when any operation is
performed does not appear in VidyoDesktop.

Known Issues and Limitations

Issue

After successfully upgrading to the Latest version of


VidyoDesktop, the Contacts list appears in the background.
When sharing a display that VidyoDesktop is on, the conference becomes full screen.
On Windows and Mac, after setting screensaver display
time to 1 minute on one user and disabling auto answer
on a second user, making a P2P call does not wake up the
original user from screen saver mode.
When conferencing on Main, the call gets dropped after
1-2 seconds.
When upgrading VidyoDesktop, hitting Cancel in the popup window does not dismiss the window.
When making an IPC call to a user that does not exist,
improper error message appears.
When an unanswered call is made from a Legacy user to a
VidyoDesktop user, improper error message appears.
When sharing a document during a conference, if the
conference size changes, the share appears black.
After logging out of VidyoDesktop and joining a conference using a guest link, right-clicking on the VidyoDesktop
icon gives more than two options.
After removing the Network cable from the PC for more
than 60 seconds, the VidyoDesktop icon appears as online
and the Network connection lost message does not
appear.
If VidyoDesktop is closed at any point, it takes over 30
seconds to log back in.
After moving to another window on the system during a
conference, only share and self-view appear.
When a Room is locked from Control Meeting, rightclicking on the VidyoDesktop icon does not give the Unlock option and the Lock option is not grayed out.
When joining a conference without a Camera or Audio
device connected, no error message appears.
When making a call with no lines available, improper error message appears.
When the functionality is disabled via the Control Meeting page, user actions take control on microphone and
camera after releasing the controls.
After creating 12 public rooms as an existing user, the
user is unable to send an email invite for all of their own
rooms.
When searching in Show Participant windows, search criteria do not return the proper results.
While in a conference, clicking on the Check for Updates tab allows you to upgrade.
When clicking on the quit option during a conference, the
warning message does not appear.

spike in CPU resource usage after starting meetings.

Known Issues and Limitations

When the conference window is on top of a shared file,


the shared file flickers and appears black.
When conferencing on a desktop with Logitech c920 with
both AGC and AEC configured, audio volume goes up and
down.
When using VidyoDesktop on Thinkpad X1 Carbon laptop,
within the same window, the text size differs in different
areas.
After changing the settings in the Configuration page, the
Apply and Save buttons are grayed out and cannot be
clicked.
While in an ongoing conference, the PC sometimes goes
in to screen saver lock mode.
When clicking the Reset Password button, the FLEX page
appears and you have to click reset password again.
When accessing VidyoDesktop from a Microsoft Surface 2
tablet, a "Microphone not started" error appears.
When installing VidyoDesktop with Chinese Traditional
selected as the default language, Chinese Simplified appears instead.
After selecting any foreign language, tool tips still appear
in English.

icons appear in the task bar.

small.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, some descender and ascender letters (such as l, j, g, t, etc.) get cut
off in the UI.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, generating
logs takes longer than normal.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, scrolling
through a long list of contacts will cause the list to become distorted on the UI.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, the default
camera is the back camera rather than the front camera.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, when there is
more than one warning message, the warning triangle
may display the same message more than once.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, undocking
shared content causes the content to become distorted.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, shared content may become distorted, although at times the distortion will automatically correct itself.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, occasionally
the self-view button shows the incorrect status.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, users may
need to tap more than once to cause the toolbar to appear.
On Surface 2 tablets running Windows 8.1, the screen
may time out and go into screen saver mode during a call.

Known Issues and Limitations

After unchecking Start VidyoDesktop on Login under


the Options tab of the Configuration page, VidyoDesktop
still automatically launches after logging in.
After minimizing the Configuration window and rightclicking on configuration again, the minimized window
does not appear in system tray and the configuration
window appears on a white background screen.
VidyoDesktop fails to join a conference after you switch
your network connection.

Issue
When using Ctrl/Cmd+L from the Configuration and Status screen while in a conference to show logs, the Logs
window appears, however, check boxes cannot be selected and the data cannot be scrolled.
When using a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9.3, VidyoDesktop crashes have been observed.
When on the log window for any Mac OS, the column
headings do not appear.
When resizing the VidyoDesktop window, the Mac locked
and rebooted.
When not in IPC calling format, clicking on the Call button
starts a conference.
When conferencing with a Thunderbolt display connectth
ed, if a 4 user joins the call, the resolution drops from
720P30 to 640X360.
When changing the client language to Swedish, an extra
menu called UVDAPPMENU appears with menu items
that should be on the Configurations menu.
When switching the WiFi network to a different network,
VidyoDesktop crashes have been observed.

When conferencing on a dual display Mac, the Video Conference Panel will appear on the primary display but the
Toolbar appears momentarily on the secondary display
before finally reappearing on the primary.

a MacBook Pro, the machine reboots.
When using a Mac with VidyoDesktop, some users are
unable to select the microphone or adjust the settings for
the volume or microphone.

Known Issues and Limitations

While in a conference with the Chrome browser open,


Chrome browser is not available for share in the share list.
When running Ubuntu 12.04, the internal speakers do not
function correctly.
While in the Sign-in window or the Contact window, the
Minimize and Maximize options do not appear.
When using Fedora 19, the AutoStart function is disabled.
After unchecking Start VidyoDesktop on Login and clicking Save/Apply, Start VidyoDesktop on Login remains
checked upon returning to the Options tab.
When running SLC 6.3 or RedHat 6.3, the VidyoDesktop
icon appears broken, and when running Fedora 18, the
icon does not exist.
When running Ubuntu 12.04, pressing Ctrl+L causes
VidyoDesktop to freeze and require force quit.
When plugging in a preferred camera, the Preferred symbol does not appear in the Device tab of the Configuration
page.
After starting a chat in a private chat window, the window
does not come to the foreground when minimized.
When using a 64-bit machine running Fedora 19, VidyoDesktop does not launch unless additional dependencies
are installed.
When running Pulse OS, the device names are categorized
into Manufacture Groups.
After configuring VidyoDesktop to use a web proxy with
authentication, but leaving the password blank, you cannot log in to the VidyoPortal.
After installing the latest VidyoDesktop application, the
Vidyo Contact Information does not appear in the About
tab of the Configuration page.
After changing the language to something non-English,
self-view still appears in English.
After clicking FECC, the camera controls are not shown,
and instead the self-view appears, conference participant
panels are not properly displayed, and results in extra
rendering instances.
When a user clicks on the FECC button on the Participant
list in the Conference Call window, the users self-view is
displayed instead of the FECC camera controls.
When using Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, some of the controls for
the chat window may be missing (such as maximize, minimize, and close controls).
After installing VidyoDesktop and logging in, the VidyoDesktop icon appears as a gray box in the system tray.
When receiving a direct call, no ring tone alert is sounded.
