Objective
To obtain either a Media Specialist position, middle school English/Reading
teaching position, a high school English teaching position, or a middle school Social
Studies teaching position.
Education
Masters of Education in Instructional Technology with School Library Media
Concentration from Georgia Southern University. I will complete the degree
December 2015 and currently have a 3.87 G.P.A.
B.A. degree in English with a French minor and teaching certification (grades
6-12) from Georgia College & State University. Graduated spring 1996 with
overall G.P.A. of 3.97 (Summa Cum Laude).
High School Diploma (Advanced Academic) from Brentwood Academy.
Graduated May 1992 with honors.

Veterans Memorial Middle School in Newton County
2015 - present
Plan all Scholastic activities (book fairs, order forms, documents).
Plan all budgets for book orders, periodical orders, and supply orders.
Review books, magazines, and reference items and place orders for
those materials.
Use Destiny (Follett) system for book circulation, fines, and reports.
Repair, maintain, and shelve collection.
Co-teach and collaborate with classroom teachers to provide lessons in
the media center.
Serve on school's Technology Team.
Serve on school's Design Team.

2007 - 2012
Planned, organized, and implemented CCGPS (the new Georgia common
core performance standards) and served on CCGPS committees as a grade
representative.
Helped to create sample unit plans for CCGPS for 6th grade for not only
HMS but also the other middle schools in the county.
Added Middle Grades Social Studies certification to enhance crosscurricular teaching for gifted students.
Completed Gifted Certification and taught gifted classes.
Planned and implemented differentiation strategies for co-taught ELA
classes.
Coached cheerleaders.
Served on various county and school committees such as QPA (quarterly
progress assessment testing), CCGPS, and Principal's Advisory.
Worked with vertical planning groups on reading lists, common grammar
practices, and a school writing program.
Worked with other grade level teachers with "protected planning" to share
assessments, compare student work, and do data analysis.
Worked with data including CRCT, benchmarks, etc. to chart growth of
students as well as kept data portfolios to be submitted yearly.
