Reviewer #1: Its not a new work.

various researcher have already presented

such kind of work earlier mostly in USA, Canada and EU. The difference was in
terms of modelling methodology.
My specific comments are as below:
1. what are the references for all scale factors.
2. What is the plant life.
3 I want to ask, Wat is the Techno-economic model evaluation method. Is this
excel based or some other software based.

Reviewer #2: The paper deals with the theoretical analysis of an integrated
biomass gasification/Fischer-Tropsch process for the production of high value
fuels from biomass. This in an interesting topic and is worth of interest for the
Journal. The paper is well organized and presented and has some interesting
results there are relevant for Energy.
It may be accepted for publication. Some minor comments in the following for
the sake of readability.
The description of the different processes which are found in the literature should
be improved to clearly understand their characteristics and highlight the
contribution of present work.
A more detailed discussion on the effect of the production plant size on the
technical and economical evaluation is required. In particular there effects on the
expander and compressor performances that are strongly affected by size,
especially for small size.
A functional schematic of the process analyzed would be helpful.
Many different assumption on the processes involved may have strong influence
on the overall results. I will strongly suggest a sensitivity analysis to the main
assumptions.

Reviewer #4: The manuscript reported a techno-economic analysis of the

biomass gasification and Fischer-Tropsch integrated process with off-gas
recirculation. The paper provided some useful information for understanding the
modeling process and its economic performance. However, some places of the
manuscript may be not reasonable and need to be further improved.
1. Page 25, Fig.1 should be replaced by the Aspen simulated flow sheet, and the
operating parameters of model units should be given in supporting information,
which is crucial for others to understand your works.
2. In my opinion, the process optimization including the optimization of heat
exchanger networks using pinch analysis should be performed before the technoeconomic analysis. Hence, the author should give detailed explanation for the
selection of operating conditions of this process.
3. The energy efficiency and exergy analysis of the integrated process were not
considered in this study, which are equally important to the economic analysis.
Hence, the energy efficiency and exergy analysis should be considered in the
present study.
4. The compositions of FT off-gas should be provided in this manuscript.
5. The conclusion should be reconstructed.
