People are so connected these days; they spend most of their time on their
smartphones. In fact studies have shown that people spend more time on their
phones than their television. They spend an average of 2 hours and 21 minutes
on their smartphones. Therefore, they deplete a lot of battery life throughout
the day. Often times, users will run into the problem of having to charge their
phones. Therefore, heavy smartphone users will often charge at least twice a
day. Users consume 144 minutes of media on their smartphone. Statistics
shows that smartphone users spend an average of 5.09 hours on their digital
devices daily in 2013, as compared to 3.14 hours in 2010. Increased battery
shows more demand for batteries. One of the possible reasons is the increasing
amount of time spent on digital devices.
