The MCC uses a reference limit at the top door position. This
limit is a mechanical limit to be
set at the doors OPEN limit.

The reference limit must be

set prior to setting the door
limits via GUI display.
- Albany RR3000 doors use a
proximity switch. See the Albany
RR3000 owners manual (Top
Position Prox Switch section) for
instructions on the prox adjustment.

- RR1000, RP300, and RR300

Clean doors use a cam-style
limit assembly. Only one of the
limits will be wired. This limit is
adjusted using the supplied allen wrench to position the appropriate cam so that it makes
its switch at the doors open position.
- Albany RR300 fabric doors
also use a cam limit assembly,
which is chain-driven and
mounted just above the motor.

Only one of the limits will be

wired.
The white nylon adjustment
screw that is closest to the wires
is the correct screw to turn to
adjust this limit.
Adjust this limit so that it
makes the micro switch just as
the door gets to the open position, which will be approximately 3-4 inches below the top of the
retrack flap. The cam inside the
Stromag assembly rotates in the
same direction as the doors top
roll barrel.

Setting Door Limits Procedure

To enter the
limit setting
procedure,
press and
hold the
STOP and
OPEN button
together for
10 seconds,
and you should
see the following screen:

Follow the directions on the

screen, and the next screen you
should see is:

When setting the open limit,

hold the OPEN button until the
door reaches the reference limit
and stops on its own. The screen
will momentarily change to:

The hold open time is how

long the door will stay open
before automatically closing,
during normal operation.

If the door is allowed to stop

prior to reaching the reference limit, or if the door position is changed after getting to the limit, the system
will not recognize or confirm the open limit.

When the screen changes back

to view 101 (Steps 3 and 4),
press and release the STOP button to confirm. The screen will
change to:
6410T0027_Rev2_2014

When the desired amount of

time has elapsed, press and
release the CLOSE button.
For fabric doors, which
have a breakaway repair feature: Upon confirming the
open limit, the procedure continues through setting the
breakaway reset limit.
The breakaway limit
must be within 4-5 inches (1/4 barrel turn) above the
reference limit to confirm.

The wireless system transfers signals from the reversing

(on fabric doors) to the controller.

the units are not communicating and may need to be

paired, similar to a Bluetooth
device.

If not already done, insert

two 3.6 volt lithium batteries
in the transmitter as shown on
the circuit board of the transmitter. The batteries must be
inserted correctly to prevent
damage of the batteries or the
transmitter. Ensure that the
DIP switches are in the N.O.
position.

To Pair the Devices:

If there are no LEDs on or

flashing on the receiver, then

If pairing was successful

and there are no safeties

Press the small white

pairing button once
on the receiver, then

Press the small white

pairing button once
on the transmitter.

Door running in the wrong direction?

A note about 3-phase motor phasing...
If the door goes up when you try to lower it, and
goes down when you try to open it, you will need to swap
two of the three legs of power going to the motor. This can
be done in the motors peckerhead or in the MCC on X2.

Switching the incoming power will have no effect.

You will also need to switch the channel wires for
the encoder. These are the black and white wires which go
to X5, terminals 2 and 6.

tripped, the L2 (middle) LED

on the receiver will flash
about every second. This confirms that pairing has been
accomplished and that the signal strength is adequate.
Test the functionality by
pressing up on the safety edge;
the middle LED should hold
solid as long as you are engaging the safety edge. This same
procedure should be done by
cycling the door and impacting
the safety edge to verify that it
reverses the door open.

Troubleshooting the Wireless RF System

If the middle LED is solid:

The transmitter is telling the

receiver that the reversing edge
is tripped.

Remove the reversing edge

wires from terminals 3 & 6
in the transmitter and check
the resistance with an ohmmeter. The resistance should
be 8.2k when the edge is
not compressed, and should
go down to less than 100
when the edge is compressed.

Double check all wiring for

proper connections. Make
sure that the connections are
made on the bare wire
strands and not the insulation of the wiring.
Remove each battery from
the transmitter and check
that the voltage is 3.6 VDC.
Standard AA batteries will
not work since they are only
1.5 VDC.
Verify that the S1, JP1 &
JP2 jumpers are on both pin
posts.

Complete the pairing procedure again.

If no receiver LEDs are lit:

Complete the pairing procedure as specified above.

Verify 24 VDC on terminals 1

& 2 of the receiver. If the
voltage is correct, replace
receiver. If no voltage, check
voltage from X11 plug or terminals in MCC.

Verify the voltage of the batteries in the receiver.

Actuators, Inputs and Outputs

The general I/O plugs

X15 through X19 can be used
as actuator inputs, interlock
inputs, or outputs. They are
pre-programmed from the factory as the following:
X15 = Open command, close
after hold open time
X16 = Open & Close command,
no timer
X17 = Output signal when
door is at the OPEN limit
X18 = Output signal when
door is at the CLOSED
limit
X19 = Traffic Light output

Some common codes for inputs:

41 - Open command, time out
26 - Open/Close command
44 - Reduced height open command, time out to close
(GUI will always open
door to full height)
69 - Additional safety device
(secondary photocell)
22 - Deactivate input
See section 8.3.10 and 8.3.11
of the MCC Owners Manual for additional options for
inputs and outputs.

Access Codes
For some programming functions, the controller will require
you to enter an access code.
